Alain's P.O.V

I turned over around the corner of the last house on the block and saw a truck pull up in front of a house.

My eyes wondered to it and saw the passengers door open and I saw Serena step out, leading my heart to jump in the sight of her.

I was going to go talk to her, but then I saw the boy that I usually see her hang around come out of the other side of the truck... I think his name was Ash?

I saw Serena's mom come out of the car and start to talk to him, but then headed back inside.

Once she left, Serena walked up to him, seeming as if they were having some kind of conversation, but then something happened that made my heart fall into two.

I watched as Serena leaned up towards that boy and kiss him on the cheek, leaving him dumbstruck.

Serena leaned back smiling, as mine shattered and turned into a frown.

Since when were these two a thing? Or are they even a thing yet? From the looks of it, that guy was pretty much tongue-tied.

Once Serena left, he turned back around in the same position of when she kissed him on the cheek.

I felt my own blood boil as I glared at him. That guy... What's so special about him?

I can't let this go on for long. He can't just go in and steal my girl that easily. Serena's the only person I probably ever liked. I'll have to win Serena over. No matter how long it takes.

Serena's P.O.V {The Next Day...}

I looked over towards my closet.

To be honest, I didn't care what the heck I wore today. I've already made up my mind. I chose Ash and he'll stay my choice.

I blushed at the though when I pecked him on the cheek the day before, my lips forming a slight smile.

How frozen and speechless he was when I did made me laugh. Man, he's cute.

I decided to wear my normal outfit on as always. I don't have anything nice to wear anyway.

I headed downstairs with my phone. As I did, I felt my phone vibrate and saw that Alain texted me.

I wish it was Ash instead. He hasn't texted me since I... You know... Kissed him on the cheek.

I opened the text messages as I continued to head down the stairs and saw that he texted, "Do you remember when and where we're going?"

"Yeah." I texted back. "At 7 and at the new restaurant built next to the mall."

"Yeah, that's it. Are you ready yet? I'm on my way to the restaurant."

"Yeah, I'm on my way too." I replied and put my phone back away.

I really wish I didn't have to go to this date thing. I should of just said no, but still.

I headed out the front door hoping my mom wouldn't notice and started to walk over to the mall that was a few more blocks away from Ash's house... Which meant I had to pass his house in order to get to the restaurant.

Once I was about to pass by Ash's house I looked away hoping he wouldn't see me through the windows or something.

When I finally passed the house and I was able to continue to go to the mall. I'll just have to make the best out of this.

I eventually reached the restaurant and waited outside the building when I saw Alain running towards me with a smile on his face.

"Hi." He greeted.

"Hey." I smiled.

Alain opened the front door to the restaurant politely and let me go in first.

We then found a table and waited there and looked for something on the menu that we might of liked.

I imagined that if Ash was here, he would just gobble everything and anything here, making me laugh out loud.

"What's funny?" Alain looked up at me from his menu.

"Oh...nothing." I looked down at the menu again and tried to spot something I would like.

After a few minutes passed, a waiter came by and asked us for something we wanted.

I ordered a Cesar salad with just water while Alain ordered a sirloin steak with water as well... I wonder what Ash would of ordered. Probably everything on the menu.

Once the waiter left to go tell the cooks what we wanted, Alain turned over to me.

"So... What have you been doing over break?" He asked.

"Nothing really." I said flatly.

"Oh." Alain looked out the window to the side of us.

"What about you?" I asked.

"I haven't been doing anything either." He sighed.

Time passed by and we finally got our food. It was pretty much silent from then on besides saying thanks to the waiter for our food.

"Are you ready to go?" Alain asked as he finished his plate.

"Yeah." I said, looking out the window wishing I was somewhere else.

Alain set down the money for our food on the table and we left, but he said he would walk me home.

"I hope you had a nice time." Alain face a small smile.

"Oh... Yeah." I kinda lied with a forced smile.

We didn't really do anything except eat... Then again, Ash would probably love that.

"So I was thinking..." He trailed off.

Funny too cause we were just passing Ash's house, so I was able to look at it as he trailed off. I wonder what Ash was doing right now. Maybe I could visit him after this, but then I heard a familiar voice from behind me yell, "Serena!" that made my heart jumped in joy.

I turned around to find Ash.

"Hi Ash!" I gave a wide grin.

Ash ran up to me and Alain with a smile... I noticed something though. Alain was- giving him some kind of look.

"Hey, Serena." Ash looked at me cheerfully.

"Hey." I said again. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing really." Ash sweat dropped. "I just came back from Gary's... Hey, I was wondering." Ash looked down at the ground. "Maybe we could go someplace to eat tomorrow."

I looked at him blanked, and then my lips formed a smile. I was just about to say something, when Alain interrupted.

"I'm sorry, but she's busy that day." Alain said flatly.

"What?" I looked up at Alain vaguely.

"You are?" Ash frowned.

"Wait, no I'm not." I told Alain specifically.

"Yes, you are." Alain said closing his eyes. "Now, come on."

He then grabbed my wrist and started to drag me away from Ash, but I pulled back and became released from his grip.

I turned back around to Ash. "Don't worry, we can do something tomorrow." I said happily.

"Hey-" Alain jumped in between us and faced Ash. "Who said you could just try to go steal my girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend?" I asked aloud, my eyes widened. Since when were we girlfriend and boyfriend?

"Girlfriend?" Ash weakly asked, wincing as the word escaped his mouth.
