Crossing The River
Authors Note📝💭: Okay... So someone said that "my other fanfics seem like Twilight, but this fanfic is good" and I'm just like, "Wait. What?"😆 I don't know whether or not if I should take that as a compliment or offensive because I know there are people out there that hate it and love it. Plus from what he said, it didn't seem like he read my other fanfics 😐😕😅
I haven't read the Twilight series before, only the movies and I'm sure I never took any ideas from it or even considered anything from it for an idea. I never put in anything like making out or anything like fighting vampires and wolves 😆 there's Calem, but it's not like he's as badass and cute like Jacob 😅
Then again, I've never read the books and I'm sure it's different from the movies. And don't come to me talking about it cause it's not like a fandom for me. The whole idea and concept of the whole series is fantastic, don't get me wrong! A truly amazing theme and concept. I'm just not into like I am Anime 😝
I'm interested to see if you guys think that my fanfics are like Twilight. Does it remind you of it? Can you relate my fanfics to it? Just want to know 😆 ✏️💬

Ash's P.O.V
As we walked through the forest I heard running water, so I stopped walking to see where it was coming from.
"Is that running water?" I asked.
"Yeah, the river is up ahead." Serena smiled.
We both continued to walk until we were both able to see the river, water running down to the left of us.
There was a regular, sized log in the middle of it, each side reaching the other across the river, creating a bridge. To be honest, it looked unstable as heck. It was all rotted and looked like it was going to break or fall off the ledges of the side of the river.
"Wait. We're supposed to cross the river?" I asked.
"Yeah." Serena said flatly and continued to walk towards the log.
"Wait!" I took hold of her wrist, making me feel warm. "Are you sure it's stable?"
"Uh-" She looked down at me holding her wrist.
"Sorry." I released my grip on her wrist, embarrassed.
"Oh- no, it's fine." She looked away from me and looked back towards the river. "Yeah, it's stable. I've crossed this for years ever since you left."
Serena continued to move towards the log, but I jumped in front of her.
"Wait, maybe I should go on it first, you know, just to make sure that it's alright to walk across." I said, my heart pounding against my chest.
"Ash, it's alright. I've walked over it more times then I can count. Even if I do fall, it's just water underneath it."
I ignored her and instead, slowly walked across the log.
Once I reached the other side, I turned around and gave a thumbs up with a grin. "It's stable."
"Yeah, okay." Serena sweat dropped.
Serena's P.O.V
"Yeah, okay." I sweat dropped.
What was his problem? It was only a river. It's not like the current was strong or anything. Boys. I'll never understand them.
I then walked over the log, walking over to the other end of it as I did.
"The oak tree should be-" I started off, but then I stopped as I was about to jump off the other end of the log, but then I felt my foot trip over my own and my body jolt forward.
I didn't even have time to think.
I heard myself scream as I saw the ground of the forest neared closer and then closed my eyes, getting ready for the impact. But then my body jerked to a stop as I felt to two arms wrap around my waist and then my feet kick against the ground.
I opened my eyes again and saw that I was still stuck in mid air.
"Are you alright!?" Ash exclaimed.
I then felt the two arms that were wrapped my waist pull me up to my feet and then let go.
I looked over to see Ash with a worried face.
"Uh- yeah. Thanks." I replied, my cheeks heating up as I did.
"No problem." Ash's face relaxed. "That's what friends do, right?" He grinned.
Friends. That word for some reason now hurt.
"Yeah. That's right." I said, my voice slowly becoming more disappointing as I went with a my eyes looking down at the ground.
Ash's P.O.V
"We better get to school. The bell is probably gonna ring soon." I scratched the back of my head and looked to the side, avoiding eye contact with Serena.
That was pretty embarrassing. I mean, it's was pretty cool that I caught her, maybe she'll think of me as her hero- what the hell am I talking about? Why in the world should she think that? I just stopped her from falling. That's it. It's not like a deserve a medal or anything like that.
I looked back at Serena, her eyes now focusing on the trees ahead of her, the leaves on the trees casting shadows, creating rays on sunlight that shot down on Serena.
Man, she's beautiful.

We continued to walk, both of us slowly forcing this awkward silence in between us. Which was... awkward.
Neither of us talked to each other for awhile, even when we passed the oak tree.
The oak tree was A LOT larger then I thought it was. It gigantic, like holy cow. It was taller then 5 buses stacked on top of each other vertically. And then I would have to have five of me in order to hug the whole trunk in width. The thing was huge!
My mouth opened up in awe as we walked by it, but Serena stayed quiet, not saying a word about it and instead, kept trotting on towards school.
I knew that school was going to start soon, but... I just wanted to sit there by the trunk of the tree with Serena. The whole forest was... mind blowing I guess you could say. Fascinating maybe? I don't know, but the whole thing took my breath away, which I would actually end up choking because I would literally end up not having any air in my lungs if I just took a look over at Serena. The whole scene was amazing. I just wished Serena said something about it or talked to me as we passed by it.
Next, we reached another wall like the first one we went through, except this one was covered in less leaves and you could tell that the wall was a pale skin like color.
"School should be right on the other side." Serena sighed and then walked over to the left towards another opening in the wall.
I followed and came out the other side and saw the road once again.
"Come on its this way! The bell's going to ring soon!" Serena said after checking the time on her phone.
She turned to the right towards the school in the distance as I followed, both of us running as fast as we can towards school. Man, today is going to last forever isn't it?
