Flora's Pov

The window of my bedroom had let in the morning sun, softly waking me from my sleep. I yawned and stretched my arms above my head before sitting up to start my day.

"Sleepy..." I yawned. I kept my eyes closed to adjust my sight a bit before suddenly opening them when something landed on my lap. A Starly had entered from my window with a note attached to its leg.

"Good morning" I smiled, taking the note that's most likely from the old couple I visit often back in town "I didn't expect this kind of greeting" I yawned and read the note "Oh!" I gasped excitedly and stormed out my sheets to look for something to wear! "Please let them know I'll be there soon!" I told Starly as I dug in my boxes full of clothes.

Starly left out the window as I picked out an outfit and threw on some shoes before picking up my bag and hurried outside. I didn't even have time to brush my hair!

"Everyone!" I called out to the meadow where I lived by. My Pokémon had came out from the trees and flowers to approach me, sleepily.

"Sorry I woke you up" I leaned on my knees to reach down to speak to my Cherubi, Combee, and Chikorita "Let's have breakfast!" I cheered "Whoever's last is a rotten egg!" I ran off through the meadow to get to Floaroma Town as quickly as possible.

I stopped running when hearing my Pokémon struggling to catch up to me. They were out of breath, except for Combee, who was floating mid air and the closest to me.

"Oppsies!" I giggled and picked up Chikorita and Cherubi in my arms "I got so excited that I had forgotten you might've not been able to catch up! Let's go! Mrs.Dear's cakes will make it all worth it!" I cheered and hurried to town, getting greeted by the townsfolk I see on occasion when I come and visit everyone once in a while.

I greeted everyone and continued on to look for the Dear couple's cafe and flower shops I adored so much! I can't wait to have a bite of their famous strawberry cake!

I was so excited to get to my destination that I didn't realize where I was going and ran into someone. I panicked when I was about to fall back, but ended up taking a hand that reached out to me.

"Oh!" I gasped and quickly stood back up right on my feet "I'm so sorry!" I bowed a million times "Thank you for catching me! I wasn't looking where I was going! Please forgive me!" The person who I ran into laughed. I looked up to see that I was a guy who looked a bit taller, had fair skin, and had shiny black hair that reached down to his neck, chuckling after I apologized.

"It's alright. No one got hurt" I huffed, embarrassed that I ended up doing that. I could had ran into a wall or a pole and caused myself real damage! I'm glad I didn't hurt him.

"I'm sorry... I should had seen where I was going" I bit my lips, still embarrassed "Are you sure you're okay?" I looked up to frown into his interesting shining red eyes. He's...

"I'm okay, don't worry-"

"You're cute" I slapped my mouth, shocked that I ended up saying that out loud "I-I mean..!" I couldn't help but admire the color of his eyes. I said that so sudden! I'm so embarrassed! "I'm sorryyyyy!" I ran off at the opposite direction and ended up at the Dear Café out of breath.

"I can't believe I said that out loud!" I cupped my burning cheeks. My Pokémon just laughed at me. I pouted and looked at the empty café "I got here earlier than expected" I settled down my fast racing heart and sighed. I better pretend what just happened didn't happen.

"Flora?" I looked up to see Mrs.Dear come from the back room to see me come in "I didn't expect to see you so early" she smiled at me.

"Mrs.Dear!" I cheered and jumped to give her a biggg hug! "Good morning!" Mrs.Dear laughed and hugged me back.

"Good morning to you too!" Mr.Dear came in afterwards.

"Good morning!" I jumped to hug him too before I was brought to an empty table "Have you perfected your strawberry cake like you said you would?!" I swung my feet on the tall chair I was on "I've been craving some cake! Cake, cake!" I sang, excitedly.

Mrs.Dear came to me to set a plate of a regular breakfast in front of me "Hm?" I questioned.

"I perfected my recipe, but that comes after eating a healthy breakfast" she told me. I stared at my plate of food I don't usually eat while living by myself in the meadow "It's been awhile since you came to visit us. Eat as much as you like" I smiled at how sweet she was and started eating while I watched the couple get the cafe ready for opening and the flowers set up in the front. For an elderly couple, they work really hard on this sort of stuff.

"Do you need some help?" I asked, swinging my feet under my seat again "I can help!"

"We're already done now. Mr.Dear already flipped the door sign" I nodded and ate the last of my toast at the same time Mrs.Dear set a plate with a pretty slice of cake on it.

"It's so pretty!" I gasped amazed and started jumping while sitting "Can I have some now?!" The couple smiled at me, letting me know I was free to eat and take my first bite.

The sweet taste was overwhelmingly sweet and delicious! I had to remember to take my time to eat sweets or else I'll get a tummy ache "So yummy!"

"I'm happy to hear that it was a success" Mrs.Dear smiled. The cafe eventually started to fill with some customers. I greeted many of them coming in while I was given some samples of a recipe Mrs.Dear was creating!

"That's a lot of cake" someone told me "aren't you afraid of getting cavities?" I looked up and flinched when seeing the guy I ran into earlier. He smiled down at me while my lips was covered in frosting.

"U-Um..." I blushed and quickly cleaned my face, embarrassed that this stranger saw me like this. Many of the townsfolk already know how I was, so I wasn't insecure about being myself in front of them, but this guy... Who is he?

"Sorry, I don't mean to make you uncomfortable" he moved to touch the seat across from me "May I sit?" I just nodded without saying anything, hoping I didn't seem weird to this stranger.

"No, it's alright. I'm just not use to speaking to people I never met before" I blushed and looked down "Sorry I said something weird earlier..."

"It's okay" he smiled and looked at the tea set with many of the samples I was given "These look good"

"They are!" I smiled happily "Mrs.Dear makes the best cakes! She gave me some samples in cupcake form! I'll let you try half of a cupcake each for an apology earlier, and some tea if you want" I huffed and drank my tea "And I'm not worried about cavities! I brush my teeth everyday and drink tea! Nothing to worry about!" He smiled and nodded. I blushed at his kind smile and glanced away, trying to not stare at him.

"Flora" Mr.Dear came up to me before seeing the guy sitting with me "Oh, sorry. I didn't know you were with a friend" I quickly waved my hands.

"T-That's okay! What were you going to tell me?" I was blushing so much through the misunderstanding "More cakes?" I gasped "Do you have more samples!?" I put my hands together in hope that he says yes, but he ended up laughing and petting my head.

"I just wanted to make sure you were alright out where you were. Would you like us to pack you a lunch?" I looked down "We always worry for your sake when you're out there by yourself"

"Oh" I stood up to face him and bowed to him "please don't worry about me. I'm always fine" I smiled at him "I promise" I looked at my Combee eating off a plate on the floor with my other Pokémon "I'll be giving you some honey as I promise weekly. I didn't get the chance to put them in a jar yet" I felt Mr.Dear's frown, but pretended to not acknowledge it.

"Flora, please listen to us. We're just trying to help you. It's going to rain soon and nobody wants you to be out there alone" I smiled back at him.

"I'm never alone! I have my Pokémon with me!" I hugged him "Thank you for the yummy food! Please let Mrs.Dear know that everything was tasty. I need to get going now" I faced the guy I sat with whom I don't even know the name of yet "Please enjoy the rest of the samples. I'm full" I lied and left the café while hearing the Dear couple called out to me to come back.

I walked across town and looked up at the sky starting to get cloudy "I hate worrying everyone... maybe I shouldn't have came to town" Everyone in town had always made sure I was comfortable as much as possible, even as I lived in the meadow on my own.

I've had countless offers of them asking me if I want to live with them and give me what any girl needs to grow. I've lived in that meadow for as long as I can remember with my Pokémon and act like I'm five years old often.

Though it was sweet that everyone cares so much about me, I don't want to leave the place I loved most. In the meadow, I'm free and happy! There's no reason to change anything about myself!

"Chika!" Chikorita called out to me. I snapped out my thoughts and noticed something missing on me.

"Oh, did I forget my bag?" She nodded "It's okay. I'll get it eventually after Tropius comes back with the jars I ordered" just as I said that, the wind picked up so fast that my hair immediately covered my face. I panicked and moved my hair to the side as Tropius came floating down from the sky after placing a large box on the grass not covered in flowers.

"Tropius!" I quickly removed the rope attached to the box and Tropius so he can have a smooth landing "You came in just in time!" I smiled and went to pet his face "Did the package come in safely?" He nodded "Great! We can finally make some money again" I turned to Combee "Let's get these jars filled"

"Bee!" Combee smiled and hurried to let her friends know. I walked into the pretty flowers, careful to not step on them, to open the box to check if the jars arrived safely.

"Sha!" I flinched and picked up my feet to see Shaymin hidden in the flowers by my feet.

"Shaymin!" I gasped and picked it up "You need to be more careful! I didn't even see you there and you could had gotten hurt by me stepping on you!" I nuzzled into its cheek, making it laugh before I placed it on my head "You should be good up there!" I hummed a song and got my Pokémon to take out many of the jars to take to where Combee's colony was so they can fill the jars with honey.

The sky roared out thunder. I looked up to see how dark it's gotten even if it's morning "That's not a pretty sight to see" I frowned and held Shaymin in my arms instead "We need to make the deliveries soon- achoo!" I sneezed.

"Chika" Chikorita frowned at me.

"I'm fine" I waved my hands and went to check on how the honey collection was doing. After awhile, all the jars were filled "Great! You guys are the best!" I cheered, jumping up and down "Everyone will be happy to get some honey! Thank you for your hard work!"

My Pokémon and I started storing the honey into the box Tropius came with so he can deliver them to Mr.Rose, who is a businessman in town that helps me sell the honey.

Just like everyone in town who wants to help me, Mr.Rose let's me keep all the profit of the honey instead of taking a percentage of it. It makes me guilty that he's helping me without anything in return, and I'm truly grateful for that.

It's not easy living out here on my own sometimes, and I hate having to worry everyone, so making money was a good investment and I can get what I need without worrying people more.

"That's the last of it" I wiped my sweat and waved to Tropius starting to fly out "Be careful! Tell Mr.Rose I said hello!" I waved and panicked again when the wind blew my hair over my face "Ahh!" I moved my hair and giggled with everyone before seeing that stranger from earlier on the phone, walking the meadow by himself with a Luxray.

"It's that guy again" something poked me. I turned around to see my Skiddo, who I hatched from an egg that Ms.Day gave me, poking me "Want to go on a ride?" He nodded "Okay!" I got on his back and waved to my Pokémon "Please take a rest! I'll see you all later!" A few Combee's followed me riding through the meadow to enjoy the fresh breeze that started to smell like rain. It was going to rain really soon.

We raced through the meadow and eventually passed by the guy from earlier. He saw me and waved. I blushed and waved back, not knowing why just looking at him made me feel so shy.

I spent the whole day out in the field after a long few hours of packing the honey and putting them in the box to take away. The jars by themselves are heavier with honey than they were when empty, so my fingers were aching a bit and my muscles were aching from the weight.

"Let's stop here" I tapped on Skiddo to stop running by the river. I got off and sat on the grass to lay down and look at the flowers I was surrounded by. Every last one of these flowers are so beautiful that it makes me happy to wake up everyday to the sight of them everywhere.

"My body is sore" I whined, stretching "The jars were heavier than usual. I wonder why" I turned to the Combee floating around me "Did you do something different to the honey?" They shook their head. I sighed and closed my eyes to feel the nice smelling breeze that smelled like rain and flowers, and listened to the sound of the river by us. It felt so nice that I couldn't help but take a nap for a bit before the rain comes.

I had a strange dream about the guy from earlier. He was holding my hands and saying something to me with such kind eyes, but I couldn't hear his voice. He softly took my cheeks, making me feel hot, and showed me his pretty red eyes. Something about them... I couldn't put my finger on it.

He leaned into my face slowly. Feeling the warmth of his hands, I felt relaxed and closed my eyes, waiting for whatever he was going to do.

"Hey you" He spoke. I blinked softly and slowly looked up at the softly pouring sky, awake from my dream, and froze when seeing the guy from my dreams looking down at me. I screamed and quickly sat up to look at him.

"You!" I held my heart beating out of control. What in the world!? What just happened?! One second I was dreaming of him and the second he was right up in my face.

"I didn't mean to scare you" he lifted his hands to show he was innocent "I saw you laying here while it was raining" I opened my hand to catch some raindrops. I didn't even feel the rain... Why did it feel so hot? "I wanted to make sure you were okay" he told me.

"I-I'm fine..." I stood up to get ready to leave due to the rain and ended up feeling dizzy. I lost my balance and fell sideways, getting caught by the guy who caught me earlier. He felt my cheeks and frowned.

"You're burning up. You shouldn't be out here in the rain" I sighed and nodded. So I ended up getting sick in the end... "I'll take you home" he put his jacket over my head and picked me up like a bride. I leaned on his chest and sighed, strangely feeling comfortable in front of this stranger. What a strange way to end the day...
