Divided Unity Ch8: Forgotten
"Come on, I want to go and see if my father found out something first."
"Of course."
Heading to the large warehouse in the back, some of the guards assigned to protect the warehouse at all costs stops them in front of the main entrance.
"Excuse me, I would like to go and visit my father, sir."
"Sorry young one, but your father suggested that you may not come within this time."
"I said, I would like to see my father, sir."
With a sigh, the Alakazam steps aside, opening the door as he knows Emerald would keep at it for a while.
With the memory of the warehouse, Emerald turns a right instantly, to face a set of stairs going down. With Silas following suit, giving no care other than to do his job: protecting Emerald.
Walking down to the lower part of the warehouse where more of the private testing occurs, Emerald and Silas enter as from the looks, a test just ended.
"Emerald! What do you think you are doing down here?" her father questions, use his psychic powers to take off the darkened goggles off his eyes.
"Just here to say hi, and take a look at what you are doing."
"And you didn't decide to stop her, now did you, Silas."
"Well we cannot stop her when she sometimes want something, sir."
Receiving a chuckle, he continues, "Ah you are correct with that indeed, Silas. Well hi there, Emerald. If you two are going to stay, I suggest you stand behind that glass. We're testing something that can blind you, and we don't have much goggles for you two."
"Sure."
Walking behind the black tinted glass window, they wait patiently as the experimentation starts. From the few papers stuck to the wall, they are testing to see if a shard of pink stone is of any importance.
"Sir? The machine is overheating! If we continue, we can risk of explosion!"
"Shut it down, no-" is all Emerald father yells before a bright flash shines through everywhere. Even through the tinted glass window, Emerald and Silas get blinded.
However, instead of the whiteness of the facility, Emerald just sees of a small oasis of a small patch of grass and an apple tree in between.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
"Yes my little child, come."
"Who are you?" she looks around, slowly walking to the tree.
"No one in particular... no one that you need to know of yet."
"Who are you! Just tell me!"
"In time... now come and eat this," the voice calls, as one of the apples float down to her.
"And what is it?"
"Just a simple apple, eat you'll be hungry later..."
Still concerned of the apple, she looks around, looking around to see if there is some way out, or where she is. Before she can even move around, the apple floats in front of her, and she feels her mouth open by force. By a force of which she doesn't know where, just a similar feeling as if someone was using a Psychic move on her.
Forced to eat the apple, she takes a bite of it, never before she ate such a sweet apple... though she doesn't want it at all. Before her eyes, another white flash occurs... but this time with more colors, but blur to it...
"Make me alive once more, go and find this place, this is where you'll be of help... make sure not to let your past interfere..."
With the voice telling her of the tale, she is shown of a clearing within a forest, a nearby cave hidden by the trees nearby as well, but near the opening. To see something shining white near the cave, all she can make of a silhouette of the presumably Pokemon standing there, a figure of which she cannot identify. Which is a surprise as she is one of the best in her former classes to be able to identify what Pokemon it would be.
"Do stay safe and make sure you take this," the figure holds out a small rock like shard, which she can see clearly; a small pink glowing shard, "Make sure to keep good care of this once you wake up once more."
"Who are you? Just tell me!"
"In time..."
"Waaa!"
"Calm down, Emerald! It's us! Oh just stop squirming!" she hears her father's voice.
"Emerald, you alright?"
"Y-Yeah.... Where's the room that you put me in... and the Pokemon that was in it too?
"What Pokemon? There was no one else here but us, and what room? You were unconscious here for a little."
Shrugging off her dad to move so she can get up, she stands back up to face the testing room. Seeing the same rock shard she saw resting on top of a small podium. Looking as if nothing of importance, just a simple rock that is naturally colored pink from the looks.
"Just curious, what is that?"
"That? The rock? Well that's what caused the flash of light after we used some tools onto it to see if we could figure out what it is. So far we still have no clue what kind of rock it is. Though we think it may contain much power if we can figure out how."
"Yeah... well let's go Silas, I'm done looking around here for today."
"Yes, m'lady, see you later, sir."
"Of course. Alright, restart the test! This time let's use something else,"
"Is something wrong?"
"No, Silas, nothing is wrong. Just that flash."
"Right, of course you are."
"Silas, I mean it, I'm fine."
"Sure, sure. But I'll still have to inform your dad of this."
"Yeah, yeah. Go do that."
------------------
"Hey, uhh Marques? Master Darkrai wanted you to stay a little longer, before you go. He said he wanted it in private."
"Fine, come on, Mallory we're going. You know exactly what he wants of me?"
"Not exactly, just said something about the Shadow Walker."
"Fine, you go ahead and leave,"
Nodding his head, the other student leaves, while Mallory and Marques head back down into the temple. Walking back into the big room, where Darkrai stands in the middle, observing one of his orbs.
"Master Darkrai, you wanted us?"
"Yes, I did... Now do you know of your long ceased relative?"
"Shadow Walker? Then yes."
"Well did you know that he was going to be apart of one of the greatest team?"
"What team?"
"Ever heard of the explorer team, Foreigners' Salvation."
"Yes, one of the best way before the segregation... So he was supposed to go and join with them? Seems impossible that he would be able to join such a team."
"Yes, by the books left, it does seem impossible. However he was good friends with them. Every single one. Yet he sided with older allies of his. The true enemies he sided with. After a while, he turned against his old allies, and back to Foreigners' Salvation later on. But was still seen as a threat to others."
"Yet he did still murder many, right?"
"Yes, evidences show to that he did, to be paid by someone private. After a while, he just vanished, presumed dead."
"So how did the children of him live?"
"That I do not know of either. Why I have called you here is that your family may have something that belongs to me..."
"Why would my family keep something from you after all these years?"
"Well not of your recent kin, but something that one of the children that Shadow Walker had."
"What is it?"
"Just a plate, a plate of pure darkness. Like a rock, but is of importance to me."
"I am sorry my lord, but I have not seen such a thing in my home. But I will go and ask my parents of it."
"Thank you, young Marques. Come to me again tomorrow if you happen to come across this particular stone."
