The Following Story Contains Excessively Violent Scenes Viewer Discretion Is Advised-gen3king

I wake up, another day after the incident two years ago. Basically, another day in Hell. There's no way May's gonna let me go on a journey, but who said she had to know. It's early morning, if I'm fast, I can be back by dinner. I've heard the stories, kids rushing the entire region in a day, but then, Iris murders their pokemon, their friends. Most have given up, but not me, this ends today.

I sneak out the window, two kids are battling in the street. One owns a lillipup, the other, a machop. "Have mercy!" The child with the lillipup pleads. The other child, who is older, orders his machop to finish the lillipup. Blood and teeth cover the pavement. The child weeps as the victor takes his prize money. I gag in disgust.

I walk up to where Biancia said to meet. She's already there, holding a pokeball. "Here you go," she says handing me the pokeball, "but I don't see why you want a tepig, they're an endangered species, why not use a lillipup or something?" "Because," I reply, "that's been tried. Everyone has a counter for common pokemon, I need something people don't prepare for, something rare."

I take the pokeball and send out the the tepig. "I'm gonna call you Blaze," I tell him. He snorts happily in response. "Thanks Biancia," I say leaving, "I'll keep him safe."

I walk to the edge of town, I take a deep breath, and walk into the tall grass. Hugh's little sister stops me. "Greg! Oh thanks Arceus! Hugh and oshawot are gone!" she exclaims.

"Gone?" I ask, "what do you mean?"

"He left a note, he's going to challenge Iris! You have to stop him! He'll be devastated if oshawot dies!"

"Don't worry," I reply, "I'll handle it." I go into the tall grass, fainting any pokemon in my way in an attempt to strengthen Blaze before I face Charon, the Cold Killer. A title given to him by Iris. Every gym leader and elite 4 member has a title.

I near the town with Charon's gym. Alder stands on a cliffside, looking into the distance. He's a weakling, he had his chance to stop Hilbert, but he failed. He sees me and jumps down.

"You a trainer?" He asks.

"Out of my way you old fool," I reply, "you couldn't protect Unova from Hilbert and his beliefs, now I'm picking up your slack. So, get out of my way."

"Great Arceus kid, you think I don't know that?" Alder replies, "Hilbert was a madman, when he took over Unova and created a kill or be killed style of battling, I was devastated. I've spent the last two years training, trying to find a way to defeat his Zekrom, but it can't be done. I've tried. Hey, do you kill?"

"Never have never will."

"Listen, I've been running a trainer school and teaching the students not to kill, if you could stop by, I'd appreciate it. I need to show them murder doesn't mean strength."

"Fine, I'll be there"

"Great, see you soon."

Alder walks off. I continue into town. Broken bones cover the blood stained streets. I go into the pokemon center. A trainer cries over the corpse of a dead pidgey. I walk up to the front desk, a stressed nurse stands behind the counter. "My tepig got banged up," I explain as Blaze climbs onto the counter, "can you heal him?"

"Do it yourself, I got enough dieing pokemon on my hands," the nurse replies. I walk up to the healing machine, put Blaze in his pokeball, and heal him. Blaze bursts out of his pokeball and follows me to Alder's school.

Two students and Alder are inside. "Well," one student says, "here we go." The first student goes down easily enough, only having a pansear and a pansage. The next student is tougher, I take her pansage out easily enough, one quick ember from Blaze, but then she sends out a panpour.

The room goes dark, I stare at Blaze, afraid of what could happen. I see a tall, white tree burning. A shadowy figure appears. "Kill," it whispers. When I come to, the panpour has fainted. I leave.

I see Hugh chasing a member of team plasma as he holds a pokeball. "Stop you theif!" Hugh yells. I order Blaze to trip the grunt.

The grunt falls, bone shards stab his face, he screams in agony. "Care to explain where that pokeball came from?" I ask.

"None of your business kid," the grunt replies. I push one of the bone shards deeper into his flesh. He screams again. "You gonna return it?" I ask.

"Never!"

"Fine." I take a broken rib and stab the grunt's legs several times.

"Arceus man! You're gonna kill him!" Hugh yells.

"He'll live," I reply, "if he talks. Last chance, who does that pokeball belong to?"

"A couple of farmers north of here," the grunt replies, "take it! Just leave me alone!"

I return the pokemon. I then tell Hugh his sister is worried. "I'm fine, Hugh replies, I can handle myself."

"OK, I'm gonna go face Charon, but if oshawot dies, run. Let me handle it."

"Sure, whatever."

Hugh walks off. I enter Charon's gym. The first two trainers are easy enough. Then I face Charon. "Greg," he explains "this is a bad idea. I've seen it before, you'll get attached, your pokemon will die, and you will lose hope. I gave up years ago, you should do the same."

"Have you looked outside?" I asked, "it looks like a living Hell out there! I can't sit by anymore."

"Fine, then let's begin." Charon sends out his first pokemon, it's easy enough to beat, he then sends out a lillipup.

Blaze is weakened, if I'm not careful, he'll die, one more blow, and it's over. The world goes dark. I'm in a cave. I hear a voice, "will you kill to save him?" It asks. Blaze appears, being choked by a pokemon I can't quite make out, but its metallic, a steel type? "No," I reply, "I'll find another way."

I'm back in the gym. Lillipup uses work up, giving me a chance to strike. I take my badge. "Don't say you weren't warned," Charon sighs. I begin walking to the next gym.
