Chapter 18 - Reminiscing the Past
"Well, firstly, I am currently living in Azalea Town, also known as the town around here," Wave said, rolling his eyes.
I wasn't sure whether he was being sarcastic or not, but I remembered that the announcer said that he was from Goldenrod City. I guessed that Wave could be staying in Azalea Town for the time being.
"Can you bring us there?" I asked. "I need to get to the Pokemon centre."
"Sure, I was going to head back anyway," Wave said. "Follow me."
He navigated easily through the forest despite the forest becoming darker. "Looks like we will need some light," he muttered. "Charmeleon, I choose you!"
"Char," Charmeleon said.
"Is that the same Charmander you used in our battle?" I asked.
"Of course. Impressive that it evolved, right?" Wave boasted.
"No offense, but we don't have time to listen to you boasting," Emily said.
"Offense taken," Wave said. "Anyways, Charmeleon, light up the way with your tail."
"Charmeleon," Charmeleon moved its tail to the front.
We continued to follow Wave. Night had already fallen and Cyndaquil was safely tucked in Emily's bag, sound asleep.
Soon, we arrived at a brightly lit building with a 'P' on top.
"Well, there you go - the Pokemon centre," Wave said.
"Thanks for bringing us here," I said.
"It's nothing," he shrugged, walking away. "Charmeleon, let's go."
"Char!" Charmeleon walked beside its trainer.
After they left, we went in the Pokemon centre. Emily and I handed our Pokeballs to a smiling Nurse Joy.
We had a quick dinner before heading off to a room to sleep. I made sure that my Pokemon egg was safely placed on the nearby table so that it wouldn't fall onto the ground while I was asleep.
As soon as my head touched the soft, comfy pillow, I fell asleep.

I could tell I was dreaming. In the dream, I guessed that I was around five years old, not yet old enough to start my journey.
I was happy running around an open field, playing with some Pokemon. When I accidentally wandered near a cliff, I spotted another Pokemon.
That time, I didn't know that it was a Bagon. In fact, it would be years later when I attended a school for children who are not old enough to become trainers.
I was curious, walking closer for a better view. The Bagon leaped off the cliff, its hands moving rapidly as it tried to fly, but it handed head first on the ground.
Worried, I rushed over. The Bagon rubbed its head and tried to shake off the impact of the blow from when it fell onto the ground.
It got up, noticing me, but it ignored me. The Bagon leaped off the cliff again, but this time, it fell onto a sharp edge of the cliff and injured one of its hands.
I tried carrying it to the Pokemon centre, but the Bagon was too heavy for me to carry.
Luckily, my dad had seen the whole thing. He rushed over and carefully carried the injured Pokemon.
"Will it be okay?" I asked.
"Nurse Joy will make sure it's okay," his voice was gentle and comforting.
I found myself waiting on one of the chairs in the Pokemon centre. Soon, my dad came to me with the fully healed Bagon in his arms.
"Bagon!" it said.
"This Bagon is saying thank you to you," my dad said.
"So it's a Bagon?" I asked.
"Yes, it is a great Pokemon," he smiled.
"Will I meet another great Pokemon when I'm ready?" I asked excitedly.
"Yes, you will. And I will be there to cheer you on," my dad promised.

That dream hurt me a little. My dad wasn't there to see me off to become a trainer, but I'm sure that he would be proud of me, no matter where he is now.
I got out of my bed and decided to take the Pokemon egg out for a 'walk'. I was walking to the side of the Pokemon centre when I saw a huge blast of fire shooting up in the sky.
Curious, I walked over to where the blast of fire came from. I was surprised to see Wave practising with his Charmeleon.
"Why are you up so early?" I asked.
Wave looked startled to see me there. "What about you?" he retorted.
"I'm taking a walk," I replied. "Are you doing some early training?"
"Yes," Wave replied curtly.
There was an awkward silence for a moment.
"Well, I better get going," I spoke up.
"I suppose," Wave said.
I decided to explore around the town a little. A few shops were beginning to open as the sun rose into the sky.
The egg began trembling. I think it's hatching!
I sat on one of the benches near a fountain and I carefully took out the Pokemon egg.
It glowed brighter and there was the exciting sound of a crack. The egg stopped glowing and it revealed an oval shaped Pokemon.
