Previously in Pokemon Chaos and Order...

Our heroes leave Driftveil City and set their sights on Mistralton City, sight of Ash's 6th Unova Gym Match and Serena's 2nd Showcase.

On their way there they meet a woman named Madame X/Hunter J, who has hypnotized some of our heroes' friends.

She kidnaps and hypnotizes Serena and Pikachu, and after some battling Ash and the others are able to rescue them.

Before they arrive at Mistralton City, the egg Ash was given by Mallow (Chapter 16) hatches to an Eevee, which Ash catches.

Our heroes have now arrived at the Mistralton City Pokemon Center with some injured Pokemon and a woozy Serena. After giving their Pokemon to the Mistralton City Nurse Joy, they ask her what they should do to help Serena.

"Well, if she's woozy then you should just give her some water, sit her down and everything should solve itself..." Nurse Joy explained. "Thanks Nurse Joy..." Ash thanked her while Nate rented rooms for them.

'I hope you'll feel better in the morning...' he thinks before sitting Serena down on a couch, giving her some time to rest. Ash decides that since Mistralton City is the sight of Serena's 2nd Showcase that he should check if there are any notifications about the subject.

He goes to one of the Pokemon Center's computers, logs in and enters MewTube, the video-making website that allows users to express themselves.

He typed, Mistralton City Pokemon Showcase into the search bar and just as he suspected, Monsieur Pierre himself has uploaded a video about the subject just this morning.

"Dear Performers, bonjour..." said Monsieur Pierre to all the people who might be watching the video. "Since the Mistralton City Pokemon Showcase is getting closer, I and the others have decided to host a pre-party for all you lovely performers! If you're watching this, you're invited! And I am thrilled to say so!"

Ash immediately turned the computer off. 'Okay then...' he thought. 'This might be fun...' he turned to look at Serena, who appeared to be more stable, though she appeared to have fallen asleep.

Ash smiled and let out a sigh. 'I hope you get better Serena...' he thought, before Nate and Dawn walked up to him with their room keys. "We rented three rooms because we don't think Serena should be alone..." Nate explained.

Ash nodded and picked Serena up bridal style and carried her to the room. Once in the room he laid her down on one of the beds and pulled the covers over her, allowing her to rest properly.

Ash went back to the Pokemon Center lobby, where Pikachu was waiting for him. "Pika Pi!" Pikachu squeaked as it jumped onto Ash's shoulder. "Good to see you're feeling better buddy..." Ash said before stretching his arm upwards and yawning.

"It is getting late..." Dawn said, before yawning herself. "I think we should go to bed early..." Ash and Nate nodded before the three headed to their rooms, quickly got changed and went to bed.

Before he fell asleep, Ash took one last glance at Serena. 'She looks so peaceful...' he thought. "Good night Serena..." he whispered before falling asleep.

The next morning...

Ash woke up, as expected, a bit early. He took a glance at the alarm clock near his bed which read 06:25 am. He rolled over and saw that Serena was gone.

At first he freaked out. He thought something bad might've happened to her, but after a few moments of paranoid thoughts, he took a deep breath and tried to rationalize.

'Okay Ash, calm down...' he thought while taking deep breaths. 'She did fall asleep early yesterday, maybe she just woke up before me and didn't want to disturb me...' he got out of bed, quietly as to not wake up Pikachu, and exited his room.

He tip-toed downstairs into the lobby area, the sun barely above the horizon. Once he was at the lobby, he realize that he was right, Serena was there.

She was sitting in a chair and combing her Eevee. Ash quietly approached her, as to not startle either, and sat down across the table from her. "I see you're up early..." he said, causing Serena to slightly jump.

"Oh... it's you..." she said with a nervous smile after calming down. "Sorry I scared you..." Ash apologized while scratching the back of his head. "It's okay..." Serena replied with a smile.

"And Ash, thanks for saving me from Malamar. And sorry for anything I might've done while I was under its spell..." she said, her smile fading after the first sentence. "Don't sweat it, that was nothing..." Ash replied while scratching the back of his head.

After some time, everybody was awake and dressed. Serena was brushing her Pokemon, who got into a little argument as to who should be groomed next. Ash then glanced at her trying to calm her Pokemon down and chuckled.

He then looked behind her and saw the computers. "Oh yeah!" He said before walking up to Serena. "Hey Serena, there's a video about some sort of pre-event to your Showcase..." "Oh! Thanks Ash!" She thanked him before walking up to the computer to check it by herself.

She watched the same video Ash did the previous day. However she kept watching until the end, and heard something that caught her ear. "The Mistralton Ball will be held at the Mistralton City Cargo Service the day before the Showcase!" Said Monsieur Pierre.

"Participation is free of charge, however I do request that all attendees and their Pokemon Partners come to the Ball with a date!" The last word made Serena's face burn like a Fire Blast before glancing at Ash.

"An actual Ball? Sounds like fun!" Dawn stated. "You're gonna go right?" Nate asked. "S... s... sure..." Serena stuttered. "Wh... wh... why... why... n... no... why not..." Serena then glanced at her 5 Pokemon. Four out of the five weren't really interested in getting a 'date'.

Her Eevee however, was more then ecstatic. It began to jump up and down happily, really wanting to show the world its dancing skills. Serena picked Eevee up in her arms. "Eevee, are you sure you wanna be there?" She asked bewildered. "There are going to be lots of people there..."

Eevee happily squealed, answering its Trainer with an enthusiastic 'yes'. "Well, now we know which Pokemon you'll be going with..." Dawn spoke. "But who's going to be its date?" She asked with a teasing tone.

"I might have an idea..." Nate said before looking at Ash's Pikachu, who was busy with a bottle of ketchup for breakfast. Pikachu then glanced at Nate, and then at Eevee. The two then blushed. "What do you say Pikachu?" Ash asked.

Pikachu hesitated but eventually hopped off of Ash's shoulder and sat down next to Eevee. "So... that means Ash is going to be your date right?" Dawn asked with the same teasing manner she spoke to Pikachu and Eevee.

Ash and Serena both blushed at the same time. Nate and Dawn chuckled before assuring the two that it'll be a great experience for them both. Ash eventually sighed. "I don't promise that I'll be a Michael Jackson on the dance floor..." he said before looking at Serena with his signature smile. "But I'll do my best!"

"Th... th... th... thanks..." Serena stuttered while blushing heavily. The four walked out of the Pokemon Center and started to head to the Cargo Service. When they got close, they could see that dozens of Pokemon Performers were there.

They could recognize some of the Performers, including May and Shauna. May and the green-haired guy with a Roserade that was checking her out in the Nimbasa Showcase, named Drew, were a couple. Shauna decided to arrive at the ball, but not participate, since she didn't want a date.

Ash begins to feel stressed about the whole ordeal. Serena took notice of Ash being stressed. "You'll be fine Ash!" She assured him. "Hmm... does that means Ash is your date Serena?" She heard a voice from behind her.

She recognized the voice immediately and jumped away from it. "MIETTE?!" She said. "That's me!" Miette answered in a smug tone. She then preceded to ignore Serena and walked up to Ash. "Me and Slurpuff don't have a date..." she said.

'Okay... what do you want me to do about it?' Ash thought. She then leaned closer to him and whispered into Ash's ear. "There's no reason for you to go with Serena, you should come with me..."

She said this in a tone that sounded like it would matter. Ash felt a little uncomfortable. "Sorry Miette..." he said. "Serena asked me first! And besides, you weren't really nice to Eevee in the Nimbasa Showcase..."

Serena then grabbed Ash's wrist and dragged him away from Miette. Slurpuff tried to get close to Pikachu, who looked really uncomfortable before running away.

Nate chuckled. "Better luck next time..." he said in a sarcastic tone before tapping her shoulder (like trying to say 'there there...') while walking away.

While inside the Cargo Service Ash and Serena arrive at the reception desk. The receptionist checks them in and then gives them a card. "What's the card for?" Serena asked the receptionist.

"They're for a special event that'll take place later..." the receptionist answered. "We have outfits available for rent, this way please..." she pointed them out to a room with tons of fancy clothes.

Serena, Dawn and the other girls there squeal in delight. Nate chuckled while Ash gulped in worry. After some time of trying on clothes our heroes came into the main hall with their rented clothes.

Dawn actually bought one of the dresses for herself and Nate just stood there, chuckling slightly at Ash's 'misfortune'. "This thing's pinching on my neck..." Ash said while trying to loosen the grip on his collar.

Suddenly the lights dim and a spotlight shines on Monsieur Pierre. "I am so happy that you're all here!" He said. "This is going to be a precursor to the Mistralton City Pokemon Showcase that will be held tomorrow! And I have a surprise for you all... Aria! The Kalos Queen, is here!"

They all gasp at the realization before Aria does in fact show up. "Nice to see you everyone!" She said in an enthusiastic tone while waving hello to everyone. "I'm happy to see everybody who got here! And I hope that one day, one of you talented Performers will go up against me on the stage of the Master Class Showcase!"

Serena got a determined look in her eyes. 'The game's on Aria!' She thought. Aria noticed Serena's determined look and instantly recognized her. She shot Serena a quick smile before raising her arm. "I declare that this Ball has officially begun!" She said. "Only one partner for each, so start dancing!"

As if on cue, the orchestra began to play a mellow sounding song. It was the main song of "Swanna Lake" a famous ballet show that even Ash has heard about.

Every Performer held hands with their partner and began to slow dance. Serena was too shy to ask Ash if he'd like to do the same so she just stood there awkwardly. "So uh... do you wanna dance?" Ash asked while blushing heavily.

Serena was taken aback by Ash's question, but she wasn't about to refuse. She took his hand and the two began to slow dance. Just like Ash said before, he wasn't the greatest dancer in the room, he tripped a couple of times and stepped out of tune even more times, but with Serena's guidance, he realized that dancing isn't that difficult.

Once they started to dance it felt like the whole world has gone silent to Serena. She felt as if she never wanted this moment to end. Nate and Dawn were cheering the two on while Pikachu and Eevee also had fun together.

Serena and Ash were dancing near the dining area of the hall. Ash was getting the hang of it when suddenly, someone stepped on the front of Serena's gown, causing her to trip and fall backwards, landing on the table and getting Punch and other foods all over her.

The orchestra stopped playing, everybody stopped dancing and turned to look at Serena. Ash had a look of both worry and guilt on his face. "I'm sorry Serena!" He said while extending his arm.

Serena whipped the food that was on her face and surprisingly began to giggle. "That's okay..." she said while taking his hand. "At least we gave the people a good laugh..."

Ash pulled on her a bit too hard and brought her into a hug. The two blushed at the embarrassing moment and parted.

Monsieur Pierre cleared his throat. "Well ladies and gentlemen, due to this incident I think we should move to the second part of the ball!" He exclaimed to everyone's confusion.

"Each one of you was given a card before the event began..." he explained. "This is what the cards are for! A Performing Tag Battle! After the Rookie Class there are no Pokemon Battles in the Showcases, so consider this a special treat!"

Aria then took Pierre's microphone. "Please expose your cards to the light of the chandelier..." she said. "If a mark appears, one of you will have the honor to battle alongside me and two others against me!"

Everyone did as they were asked and lifted their cards up to the light of the chandelier. After a few moments a mark appeared on Ash's, Serena's and Miette's cards.

The three then moved to the Battlefield. Ash and Serena were standing on one side while Aria and Miette were on the other side. "Now that's what I'm talking about!" Ash exclaimed while doing some stretches, trying to warm up.

Miette scoffed and looked at Serena. "I win battles too! All the time!" She exclaimed in a smug tone. "Well we had a Battle at the Nimbasa Showcase!" Serena reminded. "And I won that battle!" Ash's Pikachu, Serena's Eevee, Miette's Slurpuff and Aria's Delphox looked eager to begin.

"Take 'em out Ash and Serena!" Nate exclaimed from the sidelines. "Show them what Performing is really all about!" Dawn, May and Shauna cheered on at the same time. Serena's Braixen and Pancham also cheered their Trainer on.

Monsieur Pierre walked over to the referee stand. "This is a Pokemon Tag Battle!" He exclaimed. "Everyone familiar with the rules?" The four nodded. "Great! Give us the honors Klefkei! Let the Battle BEGIN!" He exclaimed while his Klefkei let out a blinding flash of multi-colored light, to give the visual representation that the Battle began.

"ALRIGHT PIKACHU, USE VOLT TACKLE ON SLURPUFF!" Ash commanded. Without wasting a second, Pikachu became surrounded by golden electricity and charged at Slurpuff at full speed, hitting it square in the stomach and sending it flying backwards.

"Lucky shot..." Miette murmured. "ALRIGHT SLURPUFF USE DRAIN PUNCH ON EEVEE!" She commanded. Before Slurpuff could punch Eevee with its green glowing nub (not even a fist) Serena spoke up.

"DODGE IT!" She cried out, causing Eevee to jump up and twirl, avoiding Slurpuff's Drain Punch. "NOW USE ITS HEAD AS A TRAMPOLINE AND USE QUICK ATTACK!" Serena commanded.

Eevee then landed on the top of Slurpuff's head, causing it to bounce towards Delphox. Eevee then became surrounded by a blue outline as it charged at Delphox.

"DELPHOX! MYSTICAL FIRE!" Aria commanded. Delphox swings its wand stick around in a circle, forming a ring of red-orange fire in front of itself. It then releases a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth.

Delphox's Mystical Fire sent Eevee tumbling backwards, much to Serena's horror. "EEVEE!" She cried out. "NOW USE ENERGY BALL!" Miette commanded. Slurpuff then blasted a green ball of energy at Eevee.

"USE IRON TAIL!" Ash commanded. Pikachu then transformed its tail into metal and swung it at Slurpuff's Energy Ball, obliterating it. "NOW USE THUNDERBOLT!" Ash commanded again. Pikachu then shot its Thunderbolt attack at Slurpuff, scoring a direct hit.

Miette growled but then thought of a plan. "Aria, I have a plan..." she whispered to the Kalos Queen, who was all ears. "Are you willing to go through with it?" Miette asked after whispering the plan to Aria.

Aria simply nodded. "Great... NOW SLURPUFF! DAZZLING GLEAM!" Miette commanded. Slurpuff releases a bright white light from its body. It then jumps in the air and rainbow colored rays of light come from the white light. The rainbow colored rays then shoot out towards Pikachu and Eevee.

"DODGE IT!" Ash and Serena commanded in unison, causing both of their Pokemon to jump high and avoid Slurpuff's attack. "FIRE SPIN NOW!" Aria commanded. Delphox slammed its wand stick onto the ground and a thin streak of fire shoots across the ground in front of it towards Pikachu and Eevee. The flame turns into a fiery tornado and it hits the two.

"PIKACHU!" "EEVEE!" Ash and Serena cry out for their respective Pokemon Partners who were engulfed by the fiery tornado. "NOW FIRE BLAST!" Aria commanded. Delphox then shot out a stream of blue fire from its wand stick, the front of the stream forms into an 大 shape. The Fire Blast hit its target, creating a huge explosion.

When the dust settled, both Pokemon were struggling to stand up and were breathing heavily. "ELECTRO BALL!" Ash commanded. Pikachu then shot a gold and blue ball of electricity at Delphox, exploding in its face.

While the battle continued for Ash, Miette and Aria, Serena rushed to Eevee. "I leaned that a smile can make a person's heart open..." she said while stroking her Eevee's fur.

"I heard that my smile can give other people strength..." she was nearly crying. "I don't know how much strength I can give you but... I want to be your strength..." Eevee then slowly opened its eyes and quietly squealed at Serena.

Suddenly, a pink, glowing, ribbon-like feeler came out of Eevee's neck fur and wrapped itself around Serena's arm. To everyone's shock, Eevee stood up and started to glow pink, grow and change. Once the glow dissipated, a different Pokemon stood where Eevee once did.

It was a quadruped, mammalian Pokemon covered primarily in pale cream-colored fur with pinkish feet, ears, and tail. There are two bows on its body, one on its left ear and one around its neck, from which two feelers adorn it. The bows are pale cream with pinkish centers, while the feelers are pale cream with pinkish and blue tips.

"Sylveon..." it squealed. "I can't believe it!" Serena exclaimed. "You... you... you Evolved?" Serena then checked her Pokedex.

Sylveon affectionately wraps its ribbon-like feelers around its Trainer's arm as they walk together.

"Awesome Serena and Sylveon!" Ash exclaimed while Pikachu was jumping for joy. "It may have Evolved but I'm still gonna win!" Miette said in a smug tone. "OH YEAH?! We'll see about that!" Ash yelled, semi-angrily and semi-confidently.

"I think it's about time we wrap this up!" Serena said. "You bet! And we should end this just like we ended our previous tag battles..." Ash said before grabbing Serena's wrist, which she does the same. (Imagine how you hold hands while doing the Unbreakable Vow thing from Harry Potter)

"TOGETHER!" The two exclaimed together. Pikachu then fires another electric blast at Slurpuff and Delphox, but Sylveon tests out its new move. Sylveon spreads its feelers wide open, and an image of the moon appears behind it. It then forms an orb of pink energy in front of its mouth, and fires it at its opponents.

The two attacks hit their tagets, creating a huge explosion. Once the dust cleared, Slurpuff and Delphox were knocked out cold. "Slurpuff and Delphox are unable to battle!" Pierre exclaimed. "The winners are Mademoiselle Serena and her partner Ash!"

The two hi-fived each other while Pikachu complimented Sylveon on its appearance, causing it to blush. After the group said their goodbyes to their friends, Aria can be seen talking to Palermo about something.

Now I just wanna say that the reason I haven't uploaded as frequently as usual lately is because my school year us almost over and I'm entering a pretty stressed period of studying. I might upload more often when I enter summer break, but then I would want to rest more so, slower update schedule until further notice. Next chapter's summary:

Serena is preparing for her second Showcase. To give herself a confidence boost, she decides to finally open the gift Ash gave her at the Nimbasa Amour Festival, which turned out to be a blue ribbon.

Serena gets taken aback by Miette stating that she already has two Princess Ribbons, and the situation gets worse when Jessiline accidentally makes a tear in Serena's dress.

Will Serena be able to conquer her fears and win her second Princess Ribbon?
