Previously in Pokemon Chaos and Order...

Ash, Serena and Nate leave Castelia City and start to head to Nimbasa City. On their way there, Serena decides to cook everybody a meal.

Turns out that there were some missing ingredients, and so Nate went to a nearby Pokemon Day-Care to buy said missing ingredients.

While there, he was attacked by Team Rocket, or rather by Jessie, since James and Meowth decided to switch sides.

During the commotion, Serena's egg, that she got from Dawn, hatched into a Piplup and Nate's Charmander evolved into Charmeleon.

On their way to Nimbasa City, sight of Ash's 4th Unova Gym Battle challenge, our heroes, joined by James and Meowth, have made their way up Route 4 and arrived at a place called Join Avenue. A place where Trainers show their strength against other different types of Trainers.

James was obviously in disguise, since he was part of an international criminal organization. He was wearing a grey and cream-colored 'tuxedo', red tie, blue sunglasses and a fedora.

After entering the avenue, Ash was instantly amazed by the sheer amount of Trainers in the avenue, and wants to challenge every single one of them. "Well hi there guys!" They heard a female voice call out to them. Ash's and Nate's hearts skip a beat as they turn to look at the person who called out to them.

"HI ELLIE!" Serena called out to her friend while waving. "It's really amazing to see you again Serena!" Ellie said. "I've been thinking about you every day! I was wondering when could I see you again...!" She was interrupted by her Emolga, who poked her in the back with an Iron Tail.

"Well... I just got a Deja Vu..." Ash gulped, clearly still shaken by the incident a few days prior. Serena felt uncomfortable by Ellie's too forward gestures, but she couldn't help but giggle at how Emolga reacted.

Nate sighed a sigh of relief, but his fears returned to him full blast once he looked behind Ellie (who was talking to her Emolga), and saw two people he hoped never to see again, Trip and Miette.

Nate turned to look at James. "Hey buddy..." he said, catching James' attention. "That girl ain't what she seems to be... so I need you to look after Ash and Serena while I go talk to someone, okay?" James smiled and nodded his head.

Nate walked up to Trip and Miette, the closer he got, the more he could hear what they were planning. "So I'm going to challenge Ash to a Battle..." Trip whispered. "And when his Pokemon are tired and injured then you will..."

"Then you will what?" Nate revealed himself, causing Trip and Miette to jump. The two began to shiver. "Uh... uh... uh... I will uh... uh..." Miette stuttered. "SHE'LL TRY TO CHEER ASH UP AND COMFORT HIM!" Trip blurted out. Miette nodded.

"Sure..." Nate said in a sarcastic tone. He then motioned the 'I'm watching you' hand signature, while mouthing to them the phrase, "I haven't forgotten..." as he walked away.

He walked back to his group of friends and tried to catch up on what he missed. Then they heard a voice. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" The voice said. "WELCOME TO JOIN AVENUE! AND I, DON GEORGE, IS THRILLED TO DECLARE THIS YEAR'S BATTLE ROYAL... OPEN!"

Ash and his friends just shrugged, and after feeling in the applications, went to their positions. Nate, Serena, James and Meowth decided to not sign up, and just cheer Ash on. Trip and Ellie have signed up though.

The first battle of the Join Avenue yearly Battle Royal was Ash vs. Ellie. The two stood in opposite sides of the Join Avenue Battleground.

Don George walked up to the referee stand. "Before I begin this Battle, I want to give a word out by our sponsors!" Don George said, his arm lifted up. "This year's Join Avenue Battle Royal is sponsored by the Pokemon Fashion and Battle Administration (or P.F.B.A.)! They have finally brought Pokemon Showcases to Unova! So now, I'll let Monsieur Pierre explain everything!"

Don George stepped down of the Referee stand. The man who walked up to the referee stand had blue eyes and blond hair. He has a big, blue and black top-hat, a blue and black suit, white gloves and a gold key around his neck.

The man spoke with a Kalosian accent (French). "Dear Trainers! Bonjour!" He said. "I am thrilled to say that former Kalos Queen, and current CEO of the PFBA, Palermo Yashio, has brought Pokemon Showcases to the Unova Region! And unlike those in Kalos, they are not Gender-specific! So if any of you lovely Trainers would like to take a shot... the first Showcase will take place in Nimbasa City 1 week from today!"

A Pokemon then appeared from behind Pierre. It was a small, grayish-white Pokemon resembling a key ring with four keys on it. It has a spherical head with a white face and a small, pink oval on its forehead. Two black circles and a keyhole form its eyes and mouth. Below its head is its pink, teardrop-shaped body with a white marking in the middle.

Extending from the top of its head is an appendage, which resembles an old-fashioned key with two wide, blunt teeth. A thin loop surrounds it, and connects at either side of the "key". Hanging from the loop are various keys that this Pokemon has collected.

"KI! KEY!" It cued. Ash turned to look at the Pokemon. 'Whoa! That's a weird looking Pokemon!' He thought. In the audience stand, James thought the same thing, and asked Nate to check the Pokedex.

Klefki loves to collect keys and will confront opponents with a fierce jingle of their collection.

Pierre turned to look at Don George, who just nodded. Pierre then raised his arm. "The first battle between Ash and Ellie is about to get underway!" He exclaimed. "This is a 1-on-1 Pokemon Battle! The Battle will be over once either Pokemon is unable to continue! Being out your Pokemon!"

Ellie grabbed her Pokeball. "EMOLGA! PROVE THESE HATERS WRONG!" She exclaimed while hurling the Pokeball forward, releasing her Emolga, who cried its cry. Ash gulped, realising that he's screwed if he wins or loses, so he decided to do his best.

"'K! PIKACHU! I CHOOSE YOU!" Ash exclaimed, pointing his finger forward. Pikachu then jumped out of Ash's shoulder and landed on the Battlefield. "PIKA CHUUUUU!" It squeaked, as yellow and blue sparks flew out of its cheeks.

Serena's Eevee freed itself from its Pokeball, just to see Pikachu battle. Serena couldn't care less however, as she was transfixed by Pierre's words. 'Pokemon Showcase?' She thought.

"Alright then! BATTLE BEGIN!" Pierre exclaimed, bringing his arm downwards. "ALRIGHT PIKACHU! USE QUICK ATTACK!" Ash commanded. Pikachu then became surrounded by a blue and white outline, as it began to charge at Emolga with incredible speed.

"EMOLGA! ELECTRO BALL!" Ellie commanded. Emolga then created a blue and yellow ball of electricity at the tip of its tail, before hurling it at Pikachu. Ash was about to tell Pikachu to dodge, but it was moving too fast and it collided with the Electro Ball, sending it flying backwards.

"PIKACHU!" Ash cried out in worry and terror. Pikachu was covered in dirt but it eventually got up. Ellie's eyes flashed red for a split second, before she yelled out, with anger in her voice. "IRON TAIL! THEN ACROBATICS! THEN IRON TAIL AGAIN!"

Emolga's tail flashed white, before transforming into metal. Emolga then quickly hit Pikachu in the stomach, sending it flying upwards. Before gravity began to take effect on Pikachu, Emolga's body began to glow blue, as it zipped around the air before hitting Pikachu several times.

Before Ash could even call out for Pikachu, Emolga, once again, transformed its tail into metal as it slammed its tail into Pikachu's back, sending it crashing down to the ground, creating a huge crater once it did.

"PIKACHU NOOOOO!" Ash cried out, while Ellie had a malicious grin on her face. Pikachu being beaten up that badly snapped Serena out of her thoughts, as her Eevee was crying.

Eevee took one glance at its Trainer's face, and remembered what she did at Ash's battle against Burgh. It then jumped up into Serena's lap, before starting to cry out to Pikachu. "EEVEE! EEVEEVEEVEE! VEE VEE EEVEE!"

"Say Meowth... what is Eevee saying?" James asked. Meowth listened for a few seconds, before answering with tears in its eyes. "She's tellin' Pikachu that he can't give up! That he's much better then that cheap copy and that she knows he's better than this! It's so inspiring!"

Once the dust cleared, everybody there gasped in disbelief, as a tiny yellow paw climbed out of the crater. Ellie and Emolga in particular were shocked, but before they could give another order, Pikachu started to use a move.

Pikachu gathers electricity into its body then surrounds itself with a golden dome, causing its body to appear black and white. "PIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKAPIKA PIKA!!!!!!!!" It squeaked, its voice sounding more robotic and echo-y while a jet engine starting up could be heard.

Pikachu then charged at Emolga with lightning speed, colliding with it head on. Once it collided with Emolga, a thunder-clap sound can be heard, creating a huge explosion.

Emolga was sent hurling backwards with so much force, it dented the metal wall that it hit. Once Pikachu went back to its position, it was panting like crazy, as if it also took a major amount of damage from its own move.

Once the dust settled, Emolga was lying next to the dent it created, knocked out cold. "EMOLGA IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!" Pierre exclaimed. "PIKACHU WINS! ROUND 1 GOES TO THE TRAINER ASH!" Despite being tired and heavily hurt, Pikachu jumped up to its Trainer's chest, giving Ash a hug, which he happily returned.

Not wanting to feel Ellie's wrath one more time, he ran away from the Battleground, claiming that he was clearing the stage for the next battle.

Around an hour later...

Ash and the other Trainers that remained in the competition battled hard to get to the top of the top. And now, it's time for the final round: Ash vs. Trip. Ash and Trip stood on opposite sides of the Battlefield. Ash, not knowing about Trip's true colors, was etching for a rematch ever since his defeat at the Nuvema Town Pokeathelon the previous year.

Don George got to the referee stand. "The final battle of this year's Jain Avenue Battle Royal is about to get underway!" He exclaimed. "Like all previous batyles, this will be a 1-on-1 match! Winner takes all! Bring out your Pokemon!"

"Time for a rematch!" Ash told the Pokeball he was holding in his hand. "FROGADIER! I CHOOSE YOU!" He exclaimed while hurling the Pokeball forward, releasing his Frogadier.

"So your Froakie evolved eh..." Trip chuckled. "YOU BET TRIP! AND WE'VE GOTTEN MUCH MUCH STRONGER TOO!" Ash said with a confident voice. Trip waved his finger, as if he was trying to say 'no', to Ash's confusion.

"It doesn't matter how much you train! A Pokemon is just as strong as the Trainer who raised it..." he explained. "And you are without a doubt the weakest, most predictable and most pathetic Trainer I've ever had the misfortune to meet! And the fact that you think you can take Serena away from me is down right laughable! Once she sees how strong I am, she'll realise the mistake she made by telling her mom about what I did! She'll instantly come crawling back to me! DESTROY HIM SERPERIOR!"

Trip released his starter Pokemon. The Grass-type snake Pokemon was glaring at Frogadier with intense hatred. But Ash was just as angry as Serperior. Each word Trip said hit him like a truck full of bricks.

He realized that Serena was totally justified to be afraid of Trip... 'YOU PUT HER THROUGH A YEAR OF HORROR AND YOU THINK SHE WANTS YOU BACK?!' Ash lashes at Trip with his mind.

He was snapped out of his thoughts by Don George exclaiming. "LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" "Let's make this quick Serperior..." Trip said in a smug voice. "Frenzy Plant!"

Serperior slammed its tail to the ground, releasing a shockwave, and causing cracks to appear. From the cracks, giant green/brown tree roots, surrounded by a green outline, came blasting out, heading straight for Frogadier.

Ash and Frogadier's eyes connected, and without saying a word, Frogadier jumped out of the way of the roots. Trip and Serperior were shocked by the event that just transpired, but before Trip could give out another command, green sparks were surrounding Serperior, signaling that it's unable to move for the turn.

"NOW'S OUR CHANCE!" Ash yelled. "USE LICK!" Frogadier then extended its tongue, wrapping it around Serperior's body. Frogadier then spun around, carrying Serperior with it, before slamming Serperior to the ground.

When Serperior got up, it was surrounded by yellow sparks, signaling that it was paralyzed. Trip growled before commanding. "USE ENERGY BALL!" Serperior then shot out a green ball of energy at Frogadier.

"ALRIGHT FROGADIER DODGE IT THEN USE BUBBLE!" Ash commands his Frogadier, who quickly dodges Serperior's attack and shoots out a bubbly foam from its mouth. "FRO... GA... DIER!" Frogadier croaks as it shoots out the Bubble attack.

"Block it with Dragon Tail!" Trip commanded his Serperior. Serperior's tail then becomes surrounded by a purple, scale-patterned aura and it slams its tail against the foam, cancelling it out.

"Now Ketchum..." Trip started to tease Ash. "Are you ready to just give up?!" Ash gritted his teeth "NO WAY!" He cried out. "I'M NOT GONNA LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS! FROGADIER WATER PULSE LET'S GO!"

Frogadier then jumped high in the air and crossed its arms in front its face while jerking its head backwards and closing its eyes. Frogadier then becomes surrounded by multiple rings of water.

Frogadier then opens its eyes and its mouth, revealing a light blue constantly changing orb of water. "Fro... Gaa.. DIER!" Frogadier croaked before shooting the orb at Serperior, causing it to transform into a comet-like jet of pulsing water.

"Pathetic..." Trip shrugged before telling his Serperior to, "USE ENERGY BALL!" Serperior then shot out a green ball of energy at Frogadier's Water Pulse, colliding with it and causing a huge expulsion of steam.

Ash was unable to see where Serperior was and thus he began to worry. His worries were realized when he heard Trip's voice. "NOW SERPERIOR! USE WRAP!" Serperior's tail then emerged from the fog of steam. It then wrapped around Frogadier's whole body in an uneven way, and began to squeeze.

"FROGADIER!" "PIKA PI!" Ash and Pikachu exclaimed in worry as the steam dissipated. Both Trip and Serperior looked at Ash, Pikachu and Frogadier with no emotion in their eyes, except for a huge grin on Trip's face.

"So Ash..." he said, trying to be polite sarcastically. "Are you ready to submit now?" Ash's eyes were filled with rage. "NO WAY!" He growled. "NOT UNTIL YOU APOLOGIZE TO SERENA!"

Trip's eyes widened. "Apologize? For what?! Her life was awful before she met me and after she left me!" He said, genuinely believing that what he was saying was true. Ash gritted his teeth, clearly enraged, even though he doesn't know why he's THAT angry.

"HOW ABOUT YOU APOLOGIZE FOR FORCING HER TO CUT TIES WITH FRIENDS?!" He yelled at him, to Trip's surprise. "HOW ABOUT FOR MANIPULATING HER INTO BELIEVING THAT SHE COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU!? HOW ABOUT FOR FORCING HER TO RELEASE THE POKEMON SHE LOVED SO MUCH JUST BECAUSE YOU WANTED HER ATTENTION TO BE ON YOU 24/7?! OR HOW ABOUT YOU INJURING HER MOM'S RHYHORN AND MAKING HER TAKE THE BLAME?! DOES THAT SOUND LIKE SOMEONE YOU'D LIKE TO BE WITH?!?!?"

Serena especially was shaken by the words Ash was saying. She knew that there was something shady about Trip, but now Ash knows it too. And if she knows him right, he's not going to rest until she's completely safe.

Trip was still trying to process what Ash told him, when Frogadier's eyes shot open. It clearly heard Ash's voice, and without even thinking, it shot a Water Pulse at Serperior's face, releasing it from its grasp.

Serperior was clearly furious about the ordeal, but once it glanced at Frogadier, its vision was blurry and it was beginning to see things that weren't there. Serperior was confused. "DRAGON TAIL!" Trip commanded.

Serperior's tail became surrounded by the purple scale-patterned aura, but instead of hitting Frogadier, it thought its tail was Frogadier, and so it headbutted its tail. Trip was stunned by what Serperior has done, but Ash decided to take this to his advantage.

"LET'S SHOW THESE GUYS WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF!" He said. "POUND GO!" Frogadier then locked eyes with Serperior, narrowing its pupils. Frogadier then became outlined in white and began to float. It then blasted towards Serperior with incredible speed, leaving a white streak behind it. Frogadier then slashes Serperior multiple times.

'Whoa! Frogadier just learned Aerial Ace...' Ash thought to himself, reminiscing about how earlier that day, Pikachu has learned Volt Tackle. Ash was certain that he has won but then he heard Trip's voice say. "DOUBLE ENERGY BALL! FULL POWER NOW!"

From the smoke a still confused Serperior shot out two, larger than usual, green balls of energy. One of them headed straight for Frogadier, hitting it head on. But the other made a backtrack and hit Serperior in the face. "FROGADIER!" "SERPERIOR!" Ash and Trip called out for their respective Pokemon.

When the dust cleared, both Pokemon were unable to get up. "BOTH FROGADIER AND SERPERIOR ARE UNABLE TO BATTLE!" Exclaimed Don George. "WE HAVE OURSELVES A TIE! And since there's only one trophy, we will quickly crown these two Trainers the yearly champions! See ya'll next year!"

Ash and his friends went past Join Avenue, not looking back. Ash was still creeped out about Ellie, Serena was feeling uncomfortable about her meeting up with the boy who temporarily ruined her life, and the others still shaken up about the rest, with Nate being particularly hateful towards Miette.

Once they make their way through, they see a city in the distance.

"ALRIGHT! NIMBASA CITY HERE WE COME!" Ash exclaimed as he ran towards the city, his friends shortly after him. Serena was about to thank Ash for talking up to Trip like that, but she just couldn't find the courage to say so. She quickly followed the group, keeping her feelings bottled up.

Hi guys! Infinityalbi10 here! Told you we were going to get a resolution to the 'flash forward' scene at the beginning of Chapter 6 now didn't I? I also told you that Ellie's going to be a recurring character and I didn't lie! As I stated the picture was drawn by LeaFxVortex, the same one who created Ellie. I hope she realises that she can draw really good! Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked, next chapter's summary:

Ash, Serena, Nate, James and Meowth arrive at Nimbasa City, sight of Ash's 4th Unova Gym Battle challenge. Once they arrive there they meet two Trainers named Red and Gary, respectively.

After some digging around, Red reveals himself to be Ash's older brother (and the Champion of the Kanto Region), and Gary is a childhood friend/rival of both Ash and Serena.

After defeating some grunts of a criminal organization called Team Plasma, Serena reveals some long forgotten memories that she had to her group of friends. Particularly that she had a brother.

Who is Serena's brother? How will our heroes defeat the members of Team Plasma? Will Ash be able to challenge the Gym Leader in time?
