Chapter 8

"Maybe not but it still doesn't change the fact that everyone in this city trusts the Onyx and there is nothing that we would do to hinder or upset them" the Arcanine spoke, dodging my attacks as I kept at him.

"Yeah I guess so" I said and this time I switched to Close Combat to get in close, "now I don't want to hurt you too badly because you seem like a cool Pokémon, but I want to get into that building and there's nothing else to stop me once I get past you"

I used Throat Chop, a move that I would consider to be a nasty cheat of a move, something of which I only use if I want to get something done with quickly, and then I used Brutal Swing to the temple and the Arcanine crumpled to the ground concussed and on the verge of unconsciousness.

At that point it was clear who was the winner and the other Pokémon let me past, though shocked that I beat the best of them rather easily. I jumped past them not wanting to wait as they all moved out of the way and I knocked on the door.

A slit near the top glowed as it slid open to reveal a Kadabra standing about three feet away from the door. I smiled fully showing all of my teeth as I saw him.

"Please let me in" I asked and the Kadabra seemed to look at my eyes for a second before nodding and closing the slit with his powers. Then the door itself glowed and opened inwards, and it made me thankful that I didn't have to keep on bugging them or break down to door and fight past the Kadabra because that would be a huge task without electricity to use.

"Thank you" I said as I walked past it, the door closing behind me, and the Kadabra nodded and went back to reading its floating magazine. I walked through the moderately narrow hall till I got to a room full of Pokémon chattering and tinkering around with different things: claws, weapons, others, even themselves as they watched others. I immediately blocked those ones from my sight, but the majority of them looked at me with slight interest, slight annoyance.

I went over to a Weavile that was sharpening its claws and it stopped for a second to look at me obviously quite annoyed.

"Hi Weavile" I said not caring if I irritated him further than he already was because I didn't care about his mood at all as long as he didn't try to kill me or anything.

"What kid?" He asked irritated and I grinned, at least I got some acknowledgement from this one rather than ignorance.

"I am wondering where you would buy common things here?" I asked and the awe agile raised an eyebrow

"Boy look around you, does this place look like it sells anything normal to you" he said stopping for a second to look at me, now slightly interested.

"Obviously, but I don't really care about any of the weird crap you sell here illegally in the city" I said and the Weavile along with a few others looked like they wanted to attack as soon as I mentioned the city in the same sentence as illegal.

"Okay, what are you looking for then?" The Weavile said slightly relaxing, good I don't want you all worked up and unwilling to show me where I can find what I'm looking for.

"I am looking for a bell" I said, "you know, like something small that I can ties around my wrist or ankle." The Weavile stares at me in disbelief.

"Really you came into a place like this because of something so simple?" The Weavile was surprised and his guard was now completely down.

"Yeah" I scratched the back of my neck, "I need it for work or The Giant Dragonite that I work for might get mad at me, and the stores in the city don't open soon enough—" I noticed the Weavile's eyes widen when I mentioned The Dragonite and everyone took a step back from me.

"You work for The Drag?" The Weavile asked in disbelief and fear.

"Yeah?" I said and they all shivered the place went way too quiet for my liking.

"Okay I'll bring you somewhere you can get something like that" The Weavile jumped up from the bench he was sitting at and onto the table before hopping down and leading me somewhere. Rather quickly too if I might add.

"Is The Dragonite someone important or something around here?" I asked and the Weavile looked at me with wide shocked eyes.

"Where have you been? Living under a rock or something?" He asked and when I didn't answer he continued, "The Drag is the strongest Pokemon on this island. Not even the city wants to piss him off and that's why they leave his underground business alone, even if it gets in their way.

"When he first came to this island he defeated an entire army of Pokémon bwcause the city thought that he would lead other humans to where we were, and after he annihilated them all they decided that they would stop the bloodshed and let him live in secret under their city, but he would not exist should someone ask that was the terms given to the city when he took the deal."

"And this scares you because?" I asked and the Weavile scraped the back of his neck lightly with the tips of his claws.

"I don't know, I guess we all thought that he had died and that was it, but then you came in and announced that he is indeed sill alive and we would need to remain careful around the waters of this island"

"Oh right" I forgot what I had come here to get, "before we get into a long conversation about Mr. Dragonite being all powerful and scary can you show me where to get this bell?"

"Yeah come on" he said and continued to walk through the halls until we arrived at a door.

"Here we are" the Weavile said I opened the door to see boxes and boxes of random things. I went over to the nearest one and looked into it.

"Where is all of this stuff from?" I asked and the Weavile shrugged.

"I don't know, sometimes some diving pokemon find things that drift in from the currents, sometimes they're human sometimes not. And the other things further back are Pokémon murders of which the killer had been found and punished accordingly"

I looked at the Weavile in surprise, but continued to look through the boxes until I found a bell halfway through the room. I lifted it up and smelled blood, but there was nothing on it, I looked around the room for the scent and tracked it to a long thin blade that had red spots on it. I grabbed it and brought it over to the Weavile, memorizing the scents that were stained to it.

"What's this from?" I asked holding it out and studying it some more in front of him.

"Uh, um, that shouldn't have been in here" he said and tried to take it but I stepped back and hit his claws away with the flat of the blade.

"I've already memorized the scents on it, and I don't think that their Pokémon scents, so where did this come from" I asked him, but he was still shocked at the sight of the thing.

"We need to have that thing burned down immediately" he said trying to take it again, "that weapon is the property of the most feared assassin of the world, and I've only heard stories about her, but she is said to be able to track items down using aura."

This time I was shocked, this was the weapon of an expert assassin, and I was holding one of their lost weapons. The Weavile stepped forwards to take it again but I just whacked his clawed hand away again.

"I want to take this as well" I said to him, this will probably upset The Dragonite if he sees or smells the scent on it, but I didn't really care. It was a lost property, and I wanted to keep it to see if the thing could actually be tracked.

"I-I can't allow you to do that" the Weavile splayed his claws and I growled in my mind, great, now I was going to have to cause a scene.

"Fine then, I'll just walk out of here with it and the bell" I said and kicked him in the chest before he could react. My kick sent him through several concrete walls and back the way we had come.

I walked back to the main area, and as I passed his unconscious form I sighed, he couldn't even dodge an attack. Was I getting stronger or was he just that weak. I continued on and walked through the main area with every Pokémon there looking at me, and then the sword, and then back at me with fear in their eyes.

They heard what had happened and I didn't think they'd be stupid enough to attack me when they saw that I was much stronger than them, but sadly, one did.

A  Rhyhorn charged me with a horn attack. I didn't really care which, but I just sidestepped and punched its side, sending it crashing into the far side of the wall, breaking through it, and shaking the entire building in the process.

I looked around at the other Pokémon threateningly. No one else came forward to try and stop me, carrying this sword was my responsibility and if the stories were true I was only planning on putting myself in danger.

I looked away from everyone and continued on outside of the building, where I skipped going through the alleyway again and traveled up the walls to the roof of the building on the left. Something in my hand made a muffled sound and I looked down and saw the bell. Oh yeah, I need to go to work, it was still early thank Arceus.

I looked at the sword, where was I going to put this for the moment? I jumped the roofs while I thought and I reached the cabin in a few minutes, I opened the door and stepped inside. As long as I didn't touch the couch in the center I could walk around without getting dropped, but then again it might be a better idea to hide it in the tunnel than the building.

I looked around for a second and I didn't see anything that would help me hide the sword. I stepped into the couch and immediately the floor dropped, and while I dropped I looked around for a spot that I could put the sword in.

About halfway down we're some large cracks, and I quickly threw the sword in between the lowest one and made sure that I knew where it was. Then I tied the bell to my ankle and soon the ground came into view.

I landed softly without a sound, but the bell made sure to ring loudly throughout the entire area. The Dragonite turned and looked at me, and then he seemed to smirk and turned back around to the Milotic that he was working on.

I made my way over the bell on my ankle resounding painfully loudly as I walked. And once I got over the Dragonite spoke.

"I'm glad to see that you took my advice seriously," he said and I nodded even though he wasn't looking at me. "I've been working on the others since you left, I don't need to sleep much and even when I do it's not for long, so we'll probably have the rest done by midday today."

"I got it down to three more Milotic and Ten Gyrados left," he looked at me and slid the rest of the Milotic off of the table until he got to the tail part. There he just swiped downwards and cut it off just before the scales began. And instead of burning the bones, the Dragonite put the dead carcass into a furnace.

"Why put it into a furnace instead of burning it like the others?" I asked and he looked at me unbothered.

"Because the people that buy the Milotic meat also like to have the heads and tails cut off and the busy burned to a skeleton dipped in metals to show off as prizes." The Dragonite said and I looked at the Milotic left. They were a very pretty pokemon, but still why would anyone want to use another's body like that?

"It's just business for them kid, don't think too hard about it" the Dragonite seemed to have read my thoughts because he said that out of nowhere. "Now come here and let's get the rest of these done quickly, and maybe I'll let you bring some Gyrados meat to the surface for the next month." He would give me more fish meat, oh I was definitely getting all of this done before lunch.
