[Charizard’s POV]

The preparations for the impending war were completed, we were just waiting for the Kalos military orders to engage the battle. As per the laws, Pokenation was only an aid to the military service so until we got the order from the main headquarters we were still waiting.

Ash wanted a bloodless battle, all the men we had trained were equipped with weapons that dealt non-fatal damages. No Pokemon or human was to be killed as per Ash’s request. But he had given his four most trusted pokemon the power of the Jewels, among them I was the most powerful.

The amount of power that I was given was uncontrollable for a normal Pokemon, even I had a hard time at the beginning, but now it is easily under my control. I have enough power to destroy this whole planet, I know that. In our training I haven’t even used nearly 10% of what I have and I was shocked when even a team of seven legendaries and my friends weren’t anywhere near beating me. But Ash on the other hand stood above me like it was nothing. He has absorbed a large amount of Jewel’s energy.

The energy is easy to control as long as you have a strong will, the moment someone’s mind wavers the power overwhelms your mind and you submit to the ultimate power of the Jewel. I still remember when Leaf and Serena had been victim to this and had destroyed the mansion. So glad we got in time or they might have hurt some civilians nearby too.

“Charizard, we need to get the troops ready quickly!” Ash called in to my transmitter.

“Wait, what do you mean?” I asked.

“The war, we might get called in any moment. Get them to board the jets. Now!” He replied.

“Woah, is it already time for that… Okay, I’ll get them.” I said before flying off to the army building to make the announcement.

Is it finally happening the day of the battle we had been training our hearts out. How long has it been since we built this base here? Time went by really fast, It feels like I had just acquired the Max form. But now that I think about it, it has been two months since Ash proposed for the offer and we made a decision. A whole two months since Ash changed for the worst. I miss seeing the old Ash. The Ash who trained me as a Charmander, the small and weak Charmander who was abandoned by his original trainer. Together we grew strong, I still feel a little guilty for disobeying him when I gained power and had ignored his orders during our travels. Those were some mistakes I made, and I am never repeating them again no matter how strong I get. Because it was Ash who made me so strong. So, when he wanted us to get stronger I chose to give it all and drive my natural Charizard instinct to disobey my trainer away. I will forever submit my body and soul to my trainer. No power on earth can turn me against him. This was my resolve when I was training to master my Max form, because it was hard to stay sane with that amount of strength. I will end this war and bring my old Ash back. It’s now or never.

The troops were informed and the whole camp was now in rush. Sound of jets starting up and men loading in the equipment, the sound of boots studding against the ground, weapons clanking together and yelling and shouting all around. It was all happening according to plan so far. It’s been what? 20 minutes or something and the jets were ready to take off. I flew to the main office to see what was going on while everyone waited outside.

I reached Ash’s office to find Greninja waiting inside for someone, when he saw me he gave a small nod and I replied with another nod. We didn’t need words to understand that he was asking if I was ready. I was always ready for this battle. I was in my normal form so it was easy for me to walk in the building. Pikachu too came in behind me. His forehead had grown a jewel like thing, I had a red glow in it. It was there for a long time now but it was hidden behind his fur, now It had surfaced completely and was visible and glowing like an orb. And not just the orb, his whole body had gone under metamorphosis of some kind because now Pikachu looked different. It was all just effect of extensive training his body was adapting for the amount of power he was filling up in the Pikachu body, He should have evolved ut since he refused to do that, his body has taken it on it self to evolve Pikachu but since it wasn’t technically a pokemon evolution so his body was just doing it slowly.

Pikachu was now a little bigger and had grown long feet, they helped him run faster than before and packed hell of a kick. His arms had grown claws that were devastatingly sharp. His eyes were now more sharp looking, they still had the familiar glow in them though. His tail had grown longer and was curved and pointed at the end. His forehead was turning a little dark, maybe some more changes that yet to come.

We waited there for a short while when Ash and Pidgeot entered. He came and the atmosphere of the room seemed to have cooled down by several degrees. His expressions were quite cold and he had a strong frown plastered. He took his seat behind his table as Pidgeot came and stood beside us in a queue.

“How are the preparations?” He asked. His arms were interlocked and resting on the table.

“The Ground Pokemon units have been successfully loaded onto the jets.” Greninja replied.

“The army unit has boarded the jets with all the weaponry.” I replied.

“The Aerial Pokemon units are ready to take off.” Pidgeot replied.

“All the weapons and machines have been thoroughly checked and loaded onto the jets. We are ready to take off after you order. The last jet for you is waiting near the exit.” Pikachu replied.

“Good, now we just wait for the call.” He said as he stared at the device kept in front of him.

The room fell silent, we all stood there almost holding our breaths. Any minute now and we will take off for the Galar region. It’s only a matter of fact when the Galar region is under attack and they call for help. When they do Kalos Protection Association volunteers for aid. And when it does it will notify Pokenation. Most of the battle events were seen by Pidgeot’s Jewel ability. Thanks to it we now know how big his army is, and where he will attack first. There is a limit to how much Pidgeot can see at once. It took a toll on his head when he first tried to see the future. He is not a psychic type so his mind is not much strong, at least that’s my theory.

The device rang and Ash moved his hand and pressed a button on a device that he was wearing in his ear. It was a wireless device that helped talk to someone through the phone.

“Ash Ketchum speaking.” he said, there was a moment of silence as Ash was listening to what the other side was speaking. “Alright, then we shall take off immediately. We have been waiting ready for this moment. See you in Galar.” Ash said and pressed the button again.

He stood up and took a deep breath. “Let’s go guys. We’ve got a rescue mission from the Galar region.” He said in a sarcastic way. When he looked at us he had the same old smile I had missed to see. “Charizard, Greninja fire the sync once we exit the building. Pidgeot, you’ll fly ahead. Send out Rayquaza to take the ozone. By the time you reach Galar, the jets will have landed and troops will take formation. Once you join we will commence attack. Charizard, you’ll fly ahead of the jets with only your synchro form. Greninja and Pikachu you’ll be with me.” We all nodded. He walked out from behind the table and walked towards the door. We followed him. Once we were out, we saw Serena and Leaf running towards us.

“Ash, we came to see you one last time.” Serena said, Ash turned around with his smiling face.

“I had just left after seeing you, didn’t I?” Ash said, he put his hand over Leaf’s head.

“Yeah, but I wanted to see your Pokemon before you all were gone.” Leaf said, and I almost wanted to cry at that.

I walked ahead and picked her up from behind, she let out a small shriek but stopped when she realised it was just me.

“Charizard, I’m gonna miss you! Please come back safe.” She cried out and hugged me.

“Of course, I’ll come back I promise.” I replied. She got down and went to Greninja to give him a hug too. Pikachu nestled himself on her small shoulder somehow and hugged her. Pidgeot rubbed his beak on her head. Serena too gave all of us a kiss as goodluck.

After seeing us, they both went back and we made our way to the exit. Once we were out Greninja and I fired our synchronization and a pillar of water from Greninja and a roar from me captured the attention of everyone on the field.

“Attention comrades! This is the moment! Team Rocket has finally made their move by attacking the Galar region and they are luring us to come save the people but as soon as we reach there, they are going to surround us and start the war. But we will not lose! We are going to show them that Evil can never gain victory over the Good! So, let’s give it our all and end their whole organisation forever! Ready for Take off!” Ash yelled and a roar of ‘Yes sir!” was heard everyone settled and within the next minute the jets had taken off. Pidgeot sent out Rayquaza who zoomed into the sky with a roar then the Aerial units took off. Pidgeot gave Ash a nod before taking off. Ash then turned to me and signaled me to go catch up with the jets. I flapped my wings and flew off in the directions the jets were leaving and took my position in the front most. Ash, Pikachu and greninja were coming in the last jet behind the other jets.

The jets made a flight formation as we sped up and flew off in the direction of Galar.

“We are coming for you Giovanni.”

I heard Ash’s voice in my head. I gave a loud roar and changed my body type to Steel-Flying. Normally when I would sync only my brain would connect with Ash, but I can also switch my type to Steel, Dragon, Fire or Flying as per my wish and when I do my body structure changes to match it. Metallic scales formed on my body and my wings grew larger.

“We are coming to get you!” I said under my breath.

Hey guys, the war is finally beginning. You know what this means.. the book is coming to an end. Of course I plan to take it till chapter 50 atleast. But yeah get excited now because I'm going to make this battle very fierce.
