Chapter 17

[Serena POV]

I felt myself getting energized, like power filling up inside me. I move a bit, and opened my eyes, "Wh-what,.. happened?" I asked, my voice was very weak and hoarse. "Oh my God Serena you're awake, I'm so happy. How are you feeling?" I heard a feminine voice, it was like Misty, I slowly turned my head and looked to my right, she was sitting on a chair near the bed, but the bed wasn't in the hospital. I looked around more and saw Ash to my left. "How are you feeling?" Ash asked, repeating Misty's words. "I feel, I feel great." I replied as I felt no more weakness. "That's good, but now you're not safe anymore. They have found you." He said, I was scared and confused at the same time. "What do you mean?" I asked, "there's something that you didn't know about yourself Serena, but he did." Misty said, "what?" I was really confused, "look, I need you to listen to me very carefully. Both of you, you have to do as I say....." he said, I was starting to feel very uncomfortable. "The reason is you Serena, are the possessor of the Jewel of life." He said, my eyes widened, I'm a what? "i hope you know about the Jewels of Eternity." I nodded, "no I don't." I looked at Misty who said that. "Well, when our universe was created, then five jewels were also created along with it. These Jewels were secured in different forms on Earth, like rocks, diamonds, Pokemons or human beings. There were these five jewels; Space, Time, Energy, Life and Entity. And Serena is the possessor of the jewel of life. The jewel that can revive barren lands even the deads from their graves." He told, I listened to him very carefully, I really thought that I had this power and I didn't know about it. "But now the problem is, Team Rocket is trying to get all the Jewels in its possession. They already have the jewel of entity, but the Jewels of Time, Space and Energy are in my possession. And the last one, the jewel of life, that is you. Team Rocket was finding it for a long time but was not able to track it because you never used it so there was no power source. But since I am the user of the jewel of Energy, I can easily sense other jewels. I knew it was you who had the jewel but I didn't tell, because it would break the secret to them. But yesterday when you tried to stop them, you accidentally used your power and now they know that you have it. So they are after you, they will not stop until they get what they want. I could have taken it from you but the problem is, you must be killed in order to take it and I can't kill someone for such reasons." I felt myself very scared, my body began to feel heavy and weak. "So, I request you to do as I say. I'll protect you from them, you'll just have to stay around me, never go anywhere without me by your side. But everything will end once I destroy Team Rocket and Giovanni, until then you stay at my home with me and leaf and my Pokemons, who will protect you from Team Rocket. Do you understand?" I nodded my head slowly, I was very scared that I am being targeted by a big evil organization.

"How do we tell this to her mom? Will she Allow her to stay here?" Misty asked, and I think she was right. "That's not a problem, after all her life depends on this and anyways she knew it from the start. You received your power from her, the Yvonne family is the possessor of the jewel of life." I was surprised to know that my family is the user of the jewel of life from generations. "So, what happened at the shopping center? Why did I fell unconscious?" I asked, I wanted to know more about myself. "Since you were not used to using suck power, you accidentally used too much and drained your energy. That's why I lent you some if my energy. From now on you have to be careful not to use your power. You are still not ready for that." He replied. "By the way, how did you get your power? Did you get it from your ancestry?" Misty asked, I was curious too. "Not really, actually Arceus himself gave it to me, before that it was hidden in a gem under the Unovan Sea." He took a breath then continued, "it was two years ago, when Team Rocket was trying to capture Arceus and use it's power for destruction. I stopped them and saved Arceus, as a reward he granted me two rewards; the jewel of Energy and he joined my team as my Pokemon." He said, my eyes popped. He really has an Arceus? "What, you caught Arceus that means your strongest Pokemon is a legendary." Misty yelled, "well I remember your Pokedex, he said that you have caught many legendary and mythical Pokemons." I spoke, "yeah, 36 to be exact." he said.

I was very amazed at him, "so what's your strongest Team of Pokemons, including the legendary?" I asked, "Hmm? starting from the lowest, my strongest 6 are: Dragonite, Charizard, Zygarde, Rayquaza, Arceus and Pikachu." He told, I instantly asked, "wait! Pikachu is your strongest Pokemon?" He nodded, "but how, I mean he's so small how can he be so strong?" I asked, Misty was also looking at him curiously. "Because I share my power with him and I trained him hard." "wow, I never thought that any normal Pokemon would be stronger than legendary Pokemon."

We talked for few more minutes when Leaf came in Ash's room, she had just woken up from her afternoon nap. "Hey sweetie, did you sleep well?" Ash asked, leaf was rubbing her eyes, she walked to him and climbed up on his lap. "Yeah...*yawn*." She replied in dizziness. "Okay I'm going to get some snacks. I'll be back in a moment, until then you stay here with Serena and Misty, okay?" "okay." She replied, ash went out to bring some snacks. Leaf sat on the bed on which I was sitting. "Can I ask you something Serena?" Lead asked, "yeah, of course." I said cheerfully, "why are you in my brother's bed?" As soon as I heard it, I froze but my cheeks began to heat up. Misty noticed this and chuckled, "oh it's not like that Leaf, Serena and I were attacked by those bad people and Serena got fainted so ash brought her here to get her better." she said, "oh..... So how are you feeling now Serena?" Leaf asked, "I-I'm g-good now." I replied while stuttering. Ash came in moments after, he brought cookies and milk. "Here eat these, they'll give you energy." I picked a cookie from the plate and took a bite, it tasted really great. "From where did you get these cookies, they're really great?" I asked, as I took another one. "They're not from any shop. I baked them myself." he said, I looked at him stars in my eyes, "really? They're really tasty! Even better than mine." I replied. After eating Misty left for home and Ash told me to take some more rest so, I laid back on the bed and drifted off.

While sleeping I took a turn, but my hand struck something. I opened my eyes to see what was it, when I saw I felt my cheeks burn like Charmander's tail. ASH WAS SLEEPING BESIDE ME! I got jumped a sudden, then I remembered that Ash placed me on his bed in the first place and when I went back to sleep again, I slept on his bed. I tried to calm myself down, I turned around and faced opposite of him. I closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

I kept up for a long time, I took turns to sleep but I couldn't, I don't know why. I turned around to face Ash, I looked at him sleeping so peacefully. He looks so cute though- WAIT WHAT? STOP IT SERENA. I began to blush light pink. I kept staring at him for a long time, I just couldn't sleep anymore. I kept on thinking about Team Rocket, they want to take the jewel of life from me and they would even kill me if they need to. I hope Ash can protect me from them-who am I kidding, he's Ash Ketchum, the one who owns freaking legendaries. He can defeat the whole world if he wanted to. He-He's so caring, loving, kind and sweet. He always helps those who are in need, even if he doesn't know them. Apart from that he's super strong, he's always there to protect his friends from all dangers, he's a superhero.

I was lost in my thoughts, which were interrupted by a voice, "hey Serena? Can't sleep?" Ash asked, his voice was sleepy. I nodded slowly, "yeah...I was thinking about the jewel of life...." "Don't worry, Team Rocket will not take you anywhere away from me. I will always be there for you, after all it's my responsibility to protect all the Jewels of Eternity."he gave me an assuring smile, I smile back. Then he moved forward and kissed my forehead, then wrapped his arms around me, I started to blush furiously, "you'll feel safer in my arms I presume. Also it will wash off your worries..." he said as he closed his eyes and dozed off. I was now wrapped in his strong muscular arms, my head was near his chest I could even hear his heartbeat. I closed my eyes and rested my head in his chest and went to sleep.

When I woke up next morning I don't find Ash beside me, I got up and saw some clothes, which were mine, on a chair near the bed. I guess he brought my clothes to change into. I took the clothes and went to the bathroom. After that I went down and saw some travel bags, and actually they were my bags. What? Why are they here? Then Ash emerged from the kitchen, "oh hey, good morning Serena..." he said with smile, I smiled back, "good morning Ash...." I replied then turned my attention to the bags, "they are my bags, right?" I asked, "yeah... actually since now you have to stay under my surveillance, I went to your home and packed up your things, your mom also agreed to it. I brought your everything here. I'll just ready the spare room for you, you can stay there." He told, wow he's so smart and great. "Thanks, but you don't have to do everything alone." I said, he like at me with a raised eyebrow. "Who said, I did it alone... Your mother and your Pokemons helped me a lot. Your mom really wants you to stay with me. She wants you safe at all cost." He said, "well... Thanks then." I replied, he gave me a gentle smile. He had prepared the breakfast, leaf too woke up soon. We all sat and ate our breakfast, after that me and Ash got ready for school. Fortunately Ash's maid, Amy and Emma, came home at time, we left Leaf with them and left for school. Ash called his Pidgeot and hopped on him, he then helped me climb up. I sat behind him and held him tightly, Ash asked Pidgeot to blast off and Pidgeot literally took off a very high speed. I yelped loudly, I toughened my grip on Ash. After reaching a certain height Pidgeot glided smoothly. I slowly loosened my grip from Ash. After few minutes we reached the school, Pidgeot landed near the gated and we got off. Ash thanked Pidgeot and returned him back. We entered the school and went to our classes, The rest of the day was almost normal, apart from my friends asking about my well being.
