Chapter 25: Old Friends and New Pokemon
"They'd be happier with you? What did he mean by that?" Chase thought. His thoughts were interrupted by a giant spiderweb blocking the entrance to Chargestone Cave.
"I got this," he told the girls. "Go HotHead!"
Chase's fiery partner appeared beside him. "Flamethrower on the web!" The Darumaka blasted the web with a column of flame, burning it away. "Good job," Chase returned his Pokemon. "Let's go!"

About five minutes into the cave, Sierra was already separated from the group. She had been so interested in the floating rocks, and didn't notice when Chase and Chris walked away. Now she was completely lost.
"Why is this cave so much like a maze?!?"
Her voice echoed throughout the cave. Suddenly, she heard something shuffle behind her. Turning slowly, she saw a pair of beady eyes staring her down. A stone moved and shown some light on the subject.
"We really have to stop meeting like this," said Adam.
"Hey you! I mean, yeah, let's stop meeting like this."
"Hey, where's Chase and Chris?"
"I don't know. We got separated."
"How does he know Chris is traveling with us?" she thought.
"Well, why don't I lead you out?"
"That would be great!"
Adam took her hand. "Ok then. Follow me."

"Chase? I think we're officially lost." The two of them had been traveling for an hour and hadn't found the light at the end of the tunnel yet.
"No, I know exactly where we are," Chase told her. "Around the next bend is the exit!" So they rounded the bend and saw... a dead end.
"Of all the people with horrible senses of direction," Chris said angrily. "Why did I have to get stuck with the worst?!?!"
"Shhh!" Chase told her. "We don't want to be attacked by a-" Chase cut himself off when he saw a Ferroseed right behind Chris with its spikes spinning. "Go HotHead! Chris, behind me!"
Chase knew that Ferroseeds where extremely aggressive Pokemon, and would attack anything that moved. They didn't look mean, though. They where a three feet tall egg shaped ball of metal, with green spikes protruding from all around their bodies. But when the spikes started spinning, you'd better fight or flee.
"HotHead! Use Flamethrower!"
A column of fire erupted from HotHead's mouth, slamming into Ferroseed and stopping his spin. Because Ferroseed was a grass/steel type, the attack did double the damage. The Ferroseed suddenly started spinning again, faster than before. Purple spikes shot out for him and flew in all directions, several hitting HotHead. "Get down!" Chase tackled Chris to the floor just as several Poison Spikes flew over their head. "Thanks Chase," Chris said. "Those spikes could've killed me!"
"No problem," he said, getting back up. "I save Sierra's life all the ti-" Chase winced and grabbed his shoulder.
"You okay?" Chris asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He turned to HotHead. "HotHead, use Fire Punch!"
Chase's Darumaka turned around and nodded. Then his fist caught fire and connected with Ferroseed's face. This was too much for the Pokemon. He had taken huge amounts of damage and was fighting to stay upright.
"Go PokeBall!"
A red and white orb flew over HotHead's head and hit Ferroseed. Ferroseed disappeared inside the ball in a flash of red. The PokeBall shook three times then clicked. Chase walked over and picked up the PokeBall. "I'll call you Gyro." e said with a big smile. Suddenly, the smile disappeared and Chase collapsed onto the cave floor.
