Where's Togepi?!
" It's so cool your girlfriend has a Togetic." Dawn said as Ash proudly presented his whole scrapbook of the rare pokemon, from day one to the day the original trio broke ways, then when they met in Hoenn, and when Misty was releasing Togetic.
" Yeah, we're really lucky. I'll Ash Misty to send me Togetic."
He took a deep breath.
" HEY MISTY-"
" ASH-"
" COULD YOU SEND ME TOGETIC?"
Ash blinked. " Wait....."
He turned to the hall and ran, and bumped into Misty as she ran into the room.
" Did you call Togetic?" They asked one another in perfect synchrony.
" Wait, I don't have Togetic."
" Do you have Togetic?" They asked as they pointed at the other.
" No?!"
" Wait, so if you don't have Togetic, and I don't have Togetic...."
They stared at each other.
Then they let an ear piercing scream.
And to top that off, it was double.
" WHY ARE THEY SO LOUD?!" Dawn yelled as she covered her ears.
" YOU GET USED TO IT THEY YELL ALL THE TIME!" Brock yelled back.
" WE DON'T HAVE TOGETIC! IT'S LOOOOOOST!" The couple yelled.
Gary sighed. " Just check the lab. She coulda escaped anywhere."
They stopped screaming.
" Hey, good idea." Ash said.
Misty nodded. " Let's get to it."
Then, they started to trash the room- throwing chairs and tables and books of shelves and bookshelves and whiteboards and.... Well everything in sight.
" Hey what's going on in here?" Someone asked.
The couple paused and turned.
Wisty was standing there, in the doorway, with a pink bandana on her head.
" What happened?" She repeated.
Ash and Misty got an idea and slowly started to inch towards Wisty. " Oh, Wisty...."
She stepped back, sweatdrop forming. " Yeah?"
" Can we please have your Togepi?"
Wisty shook her head. " No way -"
They lunged at her.
Wisty screamed, threw a Pokeball, and grabbed onto the Pokemon, Eevee clutched in her arms. " ONIX DIG!"
Onix digged, and the couple fell onto the ground.
" Well, that's not gonna work." Ash said as he rubbed his head.
" Yeah, we should apologize to Wisty." Misty agreed.
" Just as soon as she's not traumatized....." Ash muttered. " Okay, back to Togetic. Where is she?"
Misty snapped her fingers. " The other rooms!"
Ash clapped his hands. " Right!"
" Wait, both of you, stop!" Professor Rowan yelled.
But they had already taken off.
Rowan sighed. " Oh dear."
In the span of ten minutes, Rowan, Dawn, Gary and Brock had saved-
* Two flower pots
* Two potions
* A gun
* A knife
* Ten drawers
* A bunch of trophies
* Pokeballs
* The computer
* A computer chip
* A whole 80 inch flat screen TV
And more.
Gary panted slightly. " Ash... Calm... Down...."
Ash, still frantically looking around the room, barely heard Gary's words. "But we have to find Togetic, Gary! What if she's in danger?!" He shoved a stack of books aside, knocking over a lamp.
Dawn, holding her head, groaned. "Ash, you're going to destroy the whole lab at this rate!"
Misty, equally frantic, was tossing things left and right. "I can't believe we lost her! Where would she go?!"
Brock, standing in the corner, crossed his arms. "Maybe you should try thinking for a second instead of going all wild animal on everything, Ash."
" I CAN'T HELP IT!" Ash yelled as he threw a freaking couch
A whole. Couch.
It took all four humans to safely catch and put it on the ground before they had to dodge a table.
Professor Rowan held his head in his hands as the sound of crashing and shouting echoed through the lab. "This is absolute chaos," he muttered. "How do they even have this much energy?"
In the next room, Ash and Misty had turned into absolute wrecking balls, tearing through every corner like they were on a search-and-destroy mission. The professor’s personal office was now the target of their frenzy. Ash overturned a desk with wild determination, scattering papers and pens everywhere.
"She’s gotta be here somewhere!" he shouted, shoving a filing cabinet aside like it weighed nothing.
"Check the drawers!" Misty yelled, yanking open every compartment of a large wooden wardrobe. "Maybe she’s hiding in here!"
Gary burst into the room, horrified at the destruction. "Ash, Misty, STOP! This is Professor Rowan's office!"
"TOGETIC DOESN’T CARE ABOUT OFFICES!" Ash bellowed, tossing a stack of research binders into the air.
Misty grabbed a globe off the desk and spun it frantically. "Maybe Togetic's hiding behind this!"
Gary pinched the bridge of his nose. "That’s not even remotely logical!"
The chaos escalated when Ash ran into Gary’s room. "Maybe Togetic flew in here!" Without a second thought, he yanked open Gary's closet, tossing neatly folded clothes over his shoulder.
Gary stormed in behind him. "ASH! That’s my stuff! Get out of my room!"
Misty, right behind Ash, was now rifling through Gary’s bedside drawers. "Why do you have so many combs in here?"
Gary turned red. "THOSE ARE PERSONAL! GET OUT!"
Ash, meanwhile, pulled the blanket off Gary’s bed. "No Togetic here either!" He crouched down, peering under the bed. "Hey, Gary, what’s with all the old magazines?"
Gary’s face flushed deeper. "That’s it, GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"
At that moment, Rowan stormed in, Dawn and Brock trailing behind. "ENOUGH!" His booming voice filled the room, making everyone freeze mid-chaos. "What in Arceus’ name are you doing?! This is a research facility, NOT A PLAYGROUND!"
Ash sheepishly stood up, holding one of Gary’s socks for no reason. Misty awkwardly put the globe back on Gary’s desk, though it was now slightly cracked.
"Uh... sorry," Ash muttered, rubbing the back of his head. "We just really need to find Togetic."
Professor Rowan sighed heavily, his patience clearly at its limit. "And you think the best way to do that is by DESTROYING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT?"
Gary crossed his arms, glaring at Ash and Misty. "You owe me a new wardrobe and an explanation for why you thought Togetic would hide under my bed."
Misty frowned, placing her hands on her hips. "Well, we had to check everywhere!"
Brock stepped forward, arms raised in surrender. "Alright, everyone, let’s calm down. Maybe we should try searching outside instead of trashing the building?"
Dawn nodded vigorously. "Yes! Outside! Fresh air! And no more broken furniture!"
Rowan massaged his temples. "Please, just... take the search elsewhere. My lab cannot survive another minute of this chaos."
Ash and Misty exchanged a sheepish look before nodding. "Okay," Ash said, "but if we don’t find Togetic outside, we’re coming back in."
Gary groaned loudly. "I’m locking my door."
With that, the group reluctantly filed out, leaving behind a trail of destruction—and a very exasperated Professor Rowan.
Ash and Misty bolted back into the lab, their earlier promise to not destroy anything conveniently forgotten.
"She was in Gary’s room! I saw her with my own eyes!" Ash shouted, skidding into the hallway.
"But when we got there, she wasn’t there anymore!" Misty retorted, turning on her heel. "So where would she go next?"
"Bathroom!" Ash declared, pointing dramatically down the hall.
Misty blinked. "Why the bathroom?"
"Why NOT the bathroom?" Ash countered, already sprinting toward it.
Gary, following reluctantly, groaned. "I swear, if you break my lab’s plumbing—"
Before he could finish, Ash threw open the bathroom door and yelled, "TOGETIC, ARE YOU IN HERE?!" He flipped open cabinets, knocked over a soap dispenser, and even peered inside the toilet. "Not here!"
Misty was already pulling open the shower curtain, tossing shampoo bottles into the sink. "She’s not here either!" she shouted, hurling a loofah into the air.
Dawn peered in from the hallway, her hands on her hips. "This is the worst game of hide-and-seek I’ve ever seen."
"Hey, it’s not hide-and-seek! It’s a rescue mission!" Ash snapped back, throwing a bathmat over his shoulder.
"Then maybe stop trashing everything like toddlers on a sugar rush?" Gary muttered. "And can you leave the bathroom? People actually need to use it."
Before Gary could stop them, Ash and Misty were already racing toward the research room.
"Wait—STOP!" Gary yelled, chasing after them.
When they burst into the research room, Ash threw his arms up. "Togetic, we’re here to save you!"
Misty dove straight for the shelves, yanking books and research samples to the ground. "Togetic! Come out, sweetie!"
Gary burst in after them, immediately horrified. Ash was tipping over a cart filled with delicate instruments, while Misty was yanking open drawers labeled Fragile – Handle with Care. Gary lunged forward, barely catching a potion bottle before it shattered on the floor.
"STOP BREAKING THINGS!" he screamed, holding the potion high over his head as Ash reached for it.
"But what if Togetic is hiding behind this cabinet?" Ash argued, already pulling at it.
"She is NOT hiding behind my life’s work!" Gary snapped, using his free hand to wrestle the cabinet back into place.
Meanwhile, Misty had climbed onto a counter, balancing precariously as she reached for a shelf. "I think I see something up here!"
"Misty, get down from there!" Dawn yelled, running into the room.
"Not until I check for Togetic!" Misty replied, tipping the entire shelf as Gary scrambled to catch the falling items.
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO?!" Gary screamed, his arms now full of books, potions, and a very angry-looking Pikachu that had somehow gotten caught in the chaos.
Ash, now rummaging through a bin of Poké Balls, looked up. "We’re saving Togetic, obviously."
"You’re saving Togetic by DESTROYING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT?!" Gary bellowed, his voice cracking from the sheer frustration.
"Pretty much," Misty said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Gary groaned, dropping to his knees as another shelf tipped over. "I’m too young for this."
Finally, Brock stormed in, arms crossed. "Alright, that’s enough! You’re going to bankrupt Rowan with all this damage!"
Ash paused mid-toss of a microscope. "Oh… uh… sorry?"
"Sorry isn’t gonna fix this mess!" Brock growled.
At that moment, a flutter of wings caught everyone’s attention. Togetic floated down from the rafters, chirping happily as if nothing had happened.
"TOGETIC!" Ash and Misty shouted in unison, lunging forward to hug the Pokémon.
Gary collapsed onto the floor, groaning. "She was right there the whole time?"
Togetic giggled, clearly amused by the chaos.
Brock pinched the bridge of his nose. "Someone please explain to me how these two became the ‘chosen ones.’"
Dawn crossed her arms, shaking her head. "Honestly, I don’t think anyone knows."
