Chapter One

Pansy Parkinson twiddled her hair absentmindedly as she stared off out of the carriage window awaiting everyone else while Ivy crammed her bag in before sitting across from Pansy and snapping her out of her daydreaming. Both girls had been dressed in their school attire preparing for arrival and not to be scolded by Snape. Ivy had worn a white shirt that clung snuggly to her with her tie tight around her neck. She wore a pleated grey skirt with black tights that were so thin they had almost looked see through. Her hair was curled but held to the back of her head with her wand. Pansy on the other hand wore a white shirt with her tie being looser so she could unbutton the top button of her shirt. Her skirt was longer nearer to her knees and she had opted for longer grey socks. Her hair looked freshly cut and styled.

The sound of lower voices reached their ears both turning to watch Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott and Draco Malfoy enter their carriage. Theo looked as if he'd just gotten out of bed, still yawning and all. He hadn't changed into his uniform but he tended to do this on the train when approaching the school. Blaise looked utterly prim and proper as always, not even a crinkle in his shirt. Draco on the other hand looked similar to how he had when she'd seen him not long before. His shirt had been undone by three buttons and his tie hung around his neck, not yet tied.

Theodore had pushed Pansy along squeezing in at the window across from Ivy with Draco to her other side while Blaise happily found his seat by Ivy, slinging his arm over her shoulder to squeeze her into a hug.

"You look lovely Vee" Blaise cooed down to receive a smile from the girl.

"As do you" the compliment returned by Ivy.

Lifting her head she found Draco already looking her way, rather harshly in fact. Her brows creased trying to figure out what was going on in that boys head and why his mother had asked her to keep an eye on him. Nonetheless she looked away to Pansy and Theo who were arguing over Pansys chocolate frog. Theo hated the things, he really hated all kinds of chocolate which of course Pansy found hilarious with her love of chocolatey goods. Theo on the other hand indulged in sweeties and crisps.

Dracos hand flexed around the apple he held tightly. Knowing that Ivy would watch. Draco knew he was appealing, that was one of his faults, he knew women enjoyed staring and he'd use it to his advantage in whatever way he could. Only, despite Ivy's shameless staring he could never use it to his advantage with her.

He watched how her legs would flex slightly whenever she would cross or uncross them. How her skirt would move with her as she did, the smile that spread around everyone in the carriage bar him. She was beautiful and he knew Theodore and Blaise knew that too only neither had been lucky enough to score. Though, now they were too close to Ivy to try. Draco on the other hand was not close to the girl, in fact despite sharing a friend group they hardly spoke unless it was hurling insults. She had regularly been quite an upbeat girl until it came to him. He had seen her pissed off very few times and each and every time was due to him. Though she would partake in her fair share of pissing him off in return.

When they had been much younger he used to tell the girls he'd scurry off to make out with of her faults knowing they'd get back around and she'd hear them, eventually it caught up with him when she'd broken his nose in response. Despite his usual threats of his father, with her he enjoyed it. He enjoyed irking her in anyway he could.

This year had been different however, she should be the last thing on his mind now with his fathers plans and all. His future was about to begin and Ivy Wood was not a part of it.

"How's your brother?" Pansy leaned forward now facing Ivy with a raised brow and a smirk.

"Five years too old for you" Ivy's response had been quick as if she were used to this type of comment. She was, even with Pansy being more inclined to dislike any Gryffindor she stated her infatuation with Oliver was like forbidden love, two rival houses. Not to mention the fact Pansy liked any man or woman she knew she couldn't have. Oliver was at the top of that list.

"We all like someone whose a little older" Pansy hummed, looking at Ivy while she shook her head letting a giggle escape her, "come on, you're telling me you wouldn't go for an older man?" She probed, poking Ivy's knee with her finger.

"Yea Pans" Ivy laughed, "a year or two older"

Draco was near a year older the thought had flashed through her mind. Turning to take a quick glance she'd noticed Draco was fixing his watch, perhaps the time had been incorrect.

"Okay" Pansy nodded, "you like them a year or two older" she repeated, "I like them five years older" watching while Ivy screwed her face up.

"He's my brother Pansy"

"He's your fit brother" again Ivy screwed her face up while Blaise and Theo laughed, "rugged quidditch captain with the sexy Scottish accent" she smirked while talking watching Ivy move uncomfortably while the boys - excluding Draco - joined in.

"To be fair Vee, I would" Theodore laughed from Pansys side.

"Let's stop talking about my brother please" Ivy shook her head while looking to the side catching Draco staring her way yet again. He didn't back off when she caught him, instead his gaze only became more intense, as if he were baiting her, "what is it Malfoy?"

He shrugged absently at first before pulling a book from his luggage. She'd never understood his staring but now so even less.

"He's been in a pissy mood all Summer" Blaise sticks his foot out to bump Malfoy's as he answers Ivy on his behalf, Draco hadn't even acknowledged the words nor action from his friend, "I am a firm believer he just needs a good shag" Theo snickered at that whilst Pansy and Ivy screwed up their faces.

Ivy was well aware Draco could partake in such activities nearly any time he wished with the line of obsessed girls in their year who had been eagerly awaiting their turn. Apparently feminism and self respect go out the window when it comes to Draco Malfoy.

Ivy had noticed Draco lifted his gaze to meet hers again, only this time she didn't comment on it, only watched as he smirked at her admiration before looking back down at the book he'd been stuck in. Blaise, Pansy and Theo were still arguing over shagging, though now they'd moved on to the general topic, not only Dracos needs.

"Because it's disgusting Blaise!" Pansys rebuttal snapped Ivy back into conversation though she hadn't exactly heard what had been said before with being caught up in Malfoy's eyes and all.

"Oh but you mind-fucking Ivy's brother right in front of us isn't?" Theo argued back.

"Mind fucking?" Ivy interrupted to question.

Theo turned to face Ivy before smiling, "sort of like eye fucking, except the person isn't in front of you to stare at so you imagine them in your head— mind-fucking" he raised his hands for dramatic effect of the final two words before smiling.

"You made that up yourself?" Ivy raised a brow.

"No my sweet little Vee" he grabbed her hand squeezing, "you are just too innocent"

Pansy let out an immediate snort which not only caught Blaise and Theo's attention, but Dracos as well. Ivy shook her head at her friend who met the eyes of the three boys around them giving questioning looks.

"Oh come on" Pansy sent Ivy a wink, "you don't seriously believe Ivy Wood is innocent do you?" Draco immediately met Ivy's gaze as Pansy spoke, his eyes filled with a rather intense flicker of annoyance, "she may not sleep around like you lot but she is far from innocent" Pansy snapped Ivy's attention from Draco, "isn't that right?"

"I am not delving into my sex life with all of you" Ivy sat back refusing to look at them.

"You have a sex life?" Blaise questioned from her side to receive an elbow to the rib cage, after blowing out a grunt he spoke up once again, "hey, I just mean I never see you going off with anyone, you're usually with us or P" he tried to fill the hole he'd dug, "you must be the sneaky type"

She'd noted that Draco hadn't looked back at his book since Pansy spoke up, only watching her and waiting to hear just what she had to say.

"I just don't sleep around" she shrugged.

The hallways of Hogwarts had always been chilly but this year they felt even colder in more ways than one. After the ceremony for all the small and scared shitless first years Ivy had stayed behind to speak with Severus in regard to her dormitory. She'd been sharing her dormitory with Yelena Smith for years but she had left, totally disappeared into thin air now that Ivy thought about it. Nonetheless just as she'd hoped she was now in a dormitory alone, no one to bother the girl or wake her up at unnecessary times during the night due to her visions. The only other Slytherin to have his own place had been Draco Malfoy but that hadn't been in similar circumstances, in fact he had almost always had his own place thanks to his father.

Neville Longbottom had bumped into the girl in passing looking down at his feet with a rather mortified looking face. Muttering his apologies as if he had done this already to someone else before lifting his head to mutter, "oh, Ivy"

Ivy hadn't moved from in front of Neville while he stared down at the girl being slightly taller, "don't sound too excited to see me" she let out an awkward laugh while Neville attempted to do the same, "is everything okay?" Her joking tone quickly became that of a concerned one.

Neville lifted his head to look over hers spotting Draco Malfoy walking their way.

"I'm okay Ivy, I'll see you around" Neville instinctively shooting somewhat of a glare Malfoy's way causing Ivy to look back and find him walking in the direction she stood in.

Ivy wasn't prepared to speak with him here and now, she hadn't known what to say if she were totally honest. Usually she was pretty good at getting to the blonde, irking him and pissing him off was one of her favourite pastimes, key word being was. Now after his mothers request and his change in appearance and demeanour she didn't know if she had it in her to face him now. Even his walk and mannerisms had changed, only making him look more confident and less of a man that could be messed with. He strode along the hallways soon to catch up with the dark haired girl ahead of him, that was until she began speeding off toward the Slytherin common room and dormitory's. Part of him hoped she would scurry off, something which in a weird way gave him a sense of pleasure that she couldn't be as mocking as before, but part of him wanted to catch up with her, to see just what she had to say for herself.

He found that irritatingly his mind had been occupied by the constant reminder of Pansys words on the train. Draco Malfoy had believed Ivy Wood to be the prim and proper good girl who had barely shared that of a kiss but perhaps he was sorely mistaken. He'd find out exactly what Pansy had been referring to sooner or later and he knew he'd learn this from Ivy herself.
