Something was watching, waiting for, it wormed its way into her consciousness. It came as a surprise to her that there was no pain. She should feel some sort of pain after a fall like that. And why was it so warm and light at the bottom of the cliff.

Shouldn't it be cold?

As she opened her eyes slowly through the blurriness, she could tell that she wasn't lying at the bottom of the cliff. It was a soft, glowing field of small clusters of stars that formed various objects.

She knew where she was now.

Somehow, she knew she would end up here.

Just not so soon...

"Have you finally awakened?" A voice sounds out from beside the she cat. This caused her to jerk her head upward to face the cat that owned the voice. The cat only gave a soft smile in return, but it didn't meet their soulless gray eyes. "I suppose you're here to guide me to the others?" She slowly gets to her paws, pushing through the soreness that racked her body, so she could be face-to-face with the starry cat. The cat shook its head. "You can't go to the others yet you're not at peace yet, we're not at peace yet." The cat glazes up at the starless sky before stating. "Your being allowed a second chance, I would use it wisely young one."

A second chance?

What are they going on about?

Before she could say anything else, the starry cat pressed their nose to the front of her head.

Then everything went dark again.....

And that was the start of how she ended up here. She sat in the nest with her new mother lying next to her as they watched her two new littermates and father, play with each other outside of the den. "Are you sure you don't want to play with them Orchidkit?" The voice of her mother breaks the silence. "It's not often that Morningfire comes to play with you all."

Ah, right, she had forgotten that she was going by a different name now.

She almost didn't respond to the name the first few times other cats called her by her new name. But nonetheless, she turned and gave her mother a smile. "I'm fine, I just wanted to watch for a little while, and you seem so lonely after we leave to play outside normally." With a small chuckle and shake of her head from her mother, she gave her a gentle lick across her forehead. "How did I get blessed with a sweet little kitten like you Orchidkit." Her mother purrs before going back to watch the others.

It wasn't strange to see the dark tabby playing with kits even back in her old life, he would be seen playing with kits after he was done with his duties. That cat is Morningfire, in her past life he was her younger brother that she had to leave behind.

But now she is back.

Glancing up, she watched Buzzardcloud, noting how much older and more mature she looked than the last time she saw her. Buzzardcloud was a close friend in her past life and was one of the best warriors that the clan has seen. So why was she now sitting permanently in the nursery all the time? Orchidkit had heard from passing cats that Buzzardcloud wasn't even allowed to leave camp anymore.

How much time has passed since her death?

She also wondered what drew Buzzardcloud to Morningfire in the first place. From what Orchidkit could remember of her past life, Buzzardcloud was more interested in another tom. But things could have changed since her death. Curiously, Orchidkit decided to ask something that has been on her mind since she came back. "Who's Almondflower?" She asked trying to put as much innocence in her voice as possible to make Buzzardcloud not suspicious of her. If she was lucky, Buzzardcloud would think that it was just an innocent kit question.

"Almondflower was once our medicine cat some time ago, but she did something that went against her role as a medicine cat and was going to be punished for it." The older she cat's ear darted back to lay flat on her head. "But she tried to escape from her responsibility and was found dead the next day." Buzzardcloud looks down at the kit, her mother's eyes turning hard. "I don't think she would do what she was accused of, Almondflower was the kindest cat in this Clan and others took advantage of that."

Orchidkit felt a small part of herself feel grateful that her old friend still believed in her innocence after so long. "Why are you even bringing that wretched she cat up in the first place." The sudden voice angry voice of Morningfire rang out in the small den. His sudden appearance made both mother and kit jump slightly as they looked at his looming figure standing at the entrance. "And why are you even bringing her up in the first place Orchidkit." Morningfire's sharp eyes turned in her direction. It took everything in her small body to not let her fur rise up in fear while meeting his gaze.

"I heard a story about her while i was visiting the elders den." She states calmly, even though she could feel Buzzardcloud's tail wrap around her body and pull her closer to the she cat. "She has every right to hear about my friend and your sister Morningfire." Buzzardcloud snaps back at the tom and moves his gaze towards her instead. Morningfire gave a scoff as his response before he too snapped back at his mate.

"We all know she was the only one to-"

Before he could even finish his sentence, the thunder of small paws came rushing towards the trio. "Orchidkit, come play with us!" Shouted a black and red tortoiseshell she kit happily as she and a red tabby kit ran into the nursery. These were her new siblings, Rosekit and Leechkit she really wasn't keen on being close with these two when she was first able to walk and speak again. But then the two of them started to grow on her as time passed, but Orchidkit still made sure to not get too involved with them. Orchidkit looks up at Buzzardcloud, who gives a gentle nod and slowly releases her hold that she had on Orchidkit.

As the three ran out into the camp, Orchidkit stopped for a split second and looked back at the nursery. Inside were the hushed voices of Buzzardcloud and Morningfire, seemingly keeping their argument out of earshot. Green eyes narrowed at the entrance before she turned back around and darted off after the other two.
