Chapter 27

Andy's P.O.V

I jump off the vespa after Nate parks us in some back corner, because he's too cheap to pay for a parking space in a lot like a normal person. I smiled brightly at him when he offered his hand, I took it happily as he dragged me along.

"You've been here before?" I ask, he was just too good with the little side roads and secret corners he was taking.

"I was born in Brussels, this is where the Smiths adopted me." He says with avoiding my eyes before giving me a weak smile.

"Oh." I say softly angry at myself for bringing something like that up.

"Hey, hey hey." He says stopping and holding my cheeks, "don't you dare feel bad love. Tonight is our night, we're gonna make the most of it." He says planting a light kiss on my forehead before grabbing my hand once again leading me through the town.

We were basically running through back alleys, I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel dirty or cheap. But I kept my mouth shut and tried to convince myself that we wouldn't get jumped, as we ran the city lights started to come into view and I felt my heart speed up in anticipation. The closer we got the light started flooding into the darkness, Nate looked back at me with a goofy smile as soon as we broke through revealing the city.

He lets go of my hand as I stumble forward with my mouth hung wide open at the sight before me. I step down the stairs quickly standing in the middle of the pavilion. I laugh escapes my lips as I look towards Nate who gives me an encouraging smile. I laugh as I spin in the middle letting myself enjoy the moment. When I finally stop spinning I feel nauseous, I quickly stumble over to Nate who holds me tightly in him arms.

"You like?" He asks with a hesitant smile, I almost want to hit him for asking such a stupid question.

"It's amazing." I reply staring into his beautiful orbs for eyes, he smiles back down at me.

"Let's go." He grabs my hand and we're off again.

After hours of exploring the beautiful City of Brussels, Nate and I finally took a break, going for dinner. We drove there with the vespa, we got off in front of this huge restaurant with beautiful cursive letters broadcasting its name. Nate offered his arm and I slipped mine into his as we made our way inside. The place was packed and I started to worry that we wouldn't get a table. Nate walked straight up to the receptionist and I followed behind nervously.

"Bonjour, tu parle français ou anglais?" The lady says swiftly and I blinked repeatedly, suddenly I regretted not paying attention in class.

"Nous parlons anglais, je m'appelle Nathaniel Smith." Nate replies with a smile, my eyes widened in surprise at the fact that he knew French.

"Ah, Monsieur Smith. Follow me." She says to both of us and we follow behind, she leads us to a cute table by the window. Nate pulls out the chair for me and I slide in happily as the colour tints my cheeks lightly. He takes his seat and the lady leaves after handing us some menus. Nate opens the menu and browses through it but I just stare at him in complete disbelief, eventually he notices the eyes glued on him and he peaks up shyly locking eyes with me.

"What?"

"You speak French?" I question.

"Yeah." He replies with a duh tone and I narrow my eyes at him.

"Any other surprises?" I question and he chuckles a bit.

"I speak German and Dutch too." He responds as I lean back into my chair in surprise.

"Since when?" I ask a little too loudly.

"Since always." He replies laughing. I ponder a bit on his new language abilities before I remember how the lady instantly knew him.

"Oh! The lady knew you, you made a reservation?" I ask leaning into the table, he nods smiling at me.

"That's so.....sweet. When did you become such a romantic?" I question.

"Someone once told me that everyone is a romantic and they just need the right book to bring it out of them, but I think we just need the right person." He says leaning in to the table making me laugh at the memory.

"That person sounds very wise." I say leaning in a little more.

"They are.  She's very beautiful too." He says leaning in a bit too.

"Oh yeah?"

"Definitely. She's the most beautiful girl I've ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on and I can't imagine my life without her." He responds, my heart warms at his words and I lean in quickly smashing my lips against his own. He responds passionately and I start loosing myself in the kiss, leaning over more to reach him.

"Umm." Nate and I quickly part at the sudden presence. I lick my lips looking down in my lap, peaking up to see the waitress smiling down at us with eyes of awe.

"Are you ready to order?" She asks awkwardly and I realise I haven't even looked at the menu. I curse mentally kicking myself under the table.

"I'll have number 11 and number 17 for her." Nate says with a smile before handing the girl our menus. I just nod quietly hoping he got me something I'd be able to eat.

"Thanks." I say quietly and he chuckles lightly before leaning over and lifting my chin up.

"No problem, love." He says happily, my eyes focus on the beautiful man in front of me. His beautiful eyes, his warm heart, his killer smile...it was all mine and I couldn't ask for anymore.

-----------------------------

"That was so good. The squid was like WOW!" I say excitedly as we leave the restaurant. I was a bit skeptical of eating squid in the beginning but Nate eventually convinced me to try a tiny bit and after that one small piece I devoured the rest happily.

"I'm glad you liked it." He says pulling me onto the vespa.

"I loved it! I loved this entire night, every secound of it. You make my life so much better and I just love having you in it." I confess leaning against his back.

"Why would you say something like that when I can't see you? Damn it Andy, I hate you." He grumbles angrily starting up the small vehicle.

"I like you too." I mumble into his back, "I don't want this night to end."

"Me neither." He confesses. A few silent moments pass before he tenses up a bit and I frown, "it doesn't have to end."

"What do you mean?" I ask confused.

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course not." I reply making him laugh, he ignores the comment before taking off. He refuses to tell me where we're going so I just lean into his back and squeeze his warm body tightly.

Where the hell were we going?

---------------------------------

"No."

"Andy j-"

"No."

"Love." Nate begs.

"Absolutely not." I continue with my arms crossed in defiance.

"Come on."

"Hell no!" I say firmly causing him to frown.

"Please Andy." He begs with his puppy dog eyes.

"I am not getting a tattoo Nate."

"Why not?"

"Because I like my skin the way it is." I reply. We were standing in the middle of a tattoo studio that Nate dragged me into, the owner was looking pretty pissed we we're taking up his time.

"Andy, do this for me."

"No!" I reconfirm causing him to look at me with disappointed eyes. "I'm leaving." He stops me quickly.

"Wait, just hear me out.....please love." He begs and I nod waiting for him to continue. "This is where I got my first tattoo. I want you to experience this with me, I didn't come here on a whim. I've been thinking of this for a while, I got a design I made for you and everything. Please Andy."

"Does it have your name or something, because if we break up I don't want to regret it." I ask still not wanting to take the tattoo.

"Nope. It's one hundred percent you......I don't see us breaking up, but just in case, I left out my name." He answers quickly.

"I don't know Nate." I say skeptically, tattoos were never appealing to me and they still weren't.

"Please." He begs and with that one last plead I feel my resolve crumble and I curse out loud. Nate figures out that I'm going to do it and immediately starts jumping around kissing my repeatedly.

"Let me see this design." I say and he stops jumping.

"Nate..." He remains quiet and I frown.

"It's a surprise." He whispers and my frown deepens.

"A surprise?" I repeat in disbelief, "this isn't some gift. This is my skin, my skin! It doesn't wash off the next morning, it's stuck with me." I say clearly and he nods like a child.

"I know and I would never do something you wouldn't love. I know you Andy. I do. You'd love this." He says and I sigh openly.

"What the fuck am I doing with my life? Fine. Show the guy the design." I reply rubbing my nose bridge. I know I liked the guy a lot, but I mean. Even I knew this was stupid, but alas, my youthful adventurous side said fuck it. I mentally cursed several times before I realised Nate hadn't moved from his spot.

"What? What's wrong?" I ask hesitantly not wanting to know whats wrong now.

"I want to do the tattoo."

"For fuck sake Nate!" I shout and he jumps a bit in surprise.

"I've been taking a course, I've been working as an apprentice in a local studio for all my life. I'm ready and I want you to be the first person I work on." He explains confidently.

"First?" I ask in disbelief.

"Trust me Andy." He pleads holding my hands in his warm ones.

"We've been over this, I don't" I reply and I see him visibly wince.

"No jokes. Look me in the eye, do you trust me love?" He asks, his eyes searching in my own for the truth. I sigh before responding.

"I do...sadly."

"Then take a leap of faith. Be the badass I've seen since I first laid my eyes on you. Don't think, just do." He says with a weak smile and I stare at him as my mind races with several thoughts. After about twenty minutes I nodded slowly and his eyes filled with joy.

"Come with me." He says eagerly leading me into a back room. We entered a bright, red room with all sorts of machines and bottles filled with colours. He sat be down before leaving to talk to someone. When he returned he had on a special rob thing and a belt holding little bottles of black and a tiny tattoo gun thing.

He did several things in preparations before sitting next to me, when I said I wanted it on the inside of my arm he cleaned it up with rubbing alcohol before preparing the gun. When everything was ready he took out a folded piece of paper before laying it on the table next to him too high for me to see. He looked at it for quite a while, before declaring he was ready. He looked at me reassuringly and I gave him a weak smile.

"I trust you."

---------------------------------------

About a bucket full of tears later Nate finished his first tattoo. He looked back to admire his work before a large grin invaded his face, if his smile got any bigger he'd tear his mouth open.

"I'm done." He confirms wiping it down with some liquid making me wince. He apologised for the pain for the hundredth time before sitting me up, I hopped out the chair before walking with Nate to the body mirror in the corner.

My eyes widened in shock at the sight of the tattoo, my eyes rushed over ever signal detail of the thing.

My eyes focused on a small writing hidden in the tattoo and I felt my eyes watering at the sight of it. I turned back towards him, tears pouring down my cheeks before jumping into him hugging him tightly.

"I love you too."
