"We are live outside the Marriott Hotel where former contestant of America's Voice, Julia Moretti was just taken by ambulance. Chris, can you tell us what you know so far?" The split screen showing a news station and then the Marriott fill Nate's TV screen.
"Yes, thank you Veronica. As you know, the former contestant Julia Moretti and celebrity singer Nate Hollan have been in the news often over the last six months. This afternoon a 911 call was made from Hollan himself reporting an altercation of some sort between Moretti and the well-known psychiatrist, Dr. Jeremy Donovan, Jr. from Malibu's The Avalon. We now know there has been an assault."
Suddenly the doors open and we see two officers, one on each side of Jeremy who is handcuffed. His head hangs low, and he avoids the camera. Reporters and cameramen go crazy, invading his space, wanting a statement.
"Mr. Donovan! Mr. Donovan can you give us details on what happened." The reporters follow him trying to get more info. He is put into the police car without uttering a word. Ten minutes later a series of EMT workers roll out a stretcher. Paul and a few other bodyguards stay in the way so you can't see Julia's face, but it's her.
"Oh my God." Casey mutters as we all watch the live scene. Only me and Trisha know a little bit of what was going on today, but it certainly didn't include an ambulance. Something went wrong. I cover my mouth and begin to cry while watching it unfold live.
"It's ok, James. She's in good hands." Jonah pats my shoulder, and I nod but still cry. Nate is also escorted out with more bodyguards, but you only get a glimpse of him before they climb into the rescue.
"I don't understand what's going on!?" Casey cries out, not knowing any of these details or plans from today. Trisha tries to fill her in a little but even Trish doesn't have any details. All she knows is she was supposed to call Jeremy at a certain time and cancel the therapy session. The less everyone knew the better. I knew a little more thanks to Julia and Paul having conversations in front of me but again, Julia was never supposed to get hurt.
The chief of police is on the scene and the reporters want more information. The TV screen cuts to him now.
"What we know right now is Doctor Donovan is being detained for questioning after a possible assault."
"Chief- We are told it was a rape-" One of the reporters' shouts.
"Ma'am, all we know right now is Miss Moretti is in stable condition. The Marriott Hotel room is currently being investigated and will remain a crime scene for the time being." You can hear people in the background asking all sorts of questions but the Chief holds firm with little information. The screen turns back to the newscasters in the newsroom.
"There you have it. Live from ABC 5 an assault of some sort landing America's Voice Julia Moretti to be rushed to the Emergency room after celebrity Nate Hollan, himself, called 911."
Trisha's phone goes off like crazy with notifications, most likely from Nate's representatives, publicists and producers. She looks over at me. I'm still staring at the television in shock.
"Turn it off." Trisha nods to me and Casey quickly turns it off and hands me a tissue to wipe my eyes.
What the hell happened in that room? Was Julia really raped?
"Nate!" Trisha answers her phone, and we all stare at her. "Hold on, I'm putting you on speaker. Ok, talk."
"I don't know what happened, Trish!" Nate cries. We can all tell there are people around so he is leaving out major details that we will get once they are home.
"Julia. Nate why was she taken out on a stretcher?" Jonah chimes in as we all sit on the sectional couch and stare at Trisha's phone.
"He raped her! That sonofabitch raped her!" Nate hisses into the phone. "He hurt her so bad, Trish." He cries and now me AND Casey are both crying. Jonah and Trisha remain in a state of shock.
"We told them everything. We told them about the rape in the hospital. Everything."
Wow. It's all out in the open now. Jeremy will for sure go to prison.
"They're calling me in. Gotta go." Nate hangs up.

*Trisha*
Hours go by before we hear any news. James has been a mess and for good reason. Casey as well. She has become close to Julia since living here. Eventually she takes Maggie out for a walk to try and calm down. Jonah ordered pizzas so no one would have to cook tonight and is trying to get James to eat, but he's not having it right now. He's so agitated and frustrated he swipes his plate of pizza right off the table and walks to his room.
"I've got it." I get up and head to James room. He lays on his bed with his arm covering his eyes while he cries. I lay down next to him and prop myself up on my elbows.
"Hey Hot Stuff. It's ok. You don't have to cover your face with me." I pull his arm away from his face. He has the saddest eyes I've ever seen on him. I gently swipe his hair up away from his forehead and lay down, using my arm as a pillow. We say nothing to each. We just lay there together. James swallows hard while looking up at the ceiling and shakes his head. I wipe his tears off his cheek.
"I know." I respond. It's all too much. I wonder how bad he hurt her. I obviously don't bring any of that up with James. He's having a hard enough time right now and can't even talk about it himself.
Jonah comes into the room.
"Nate just called. Julia just got discharged. They're on their way home now. Fair warning, she's a mess. They wanted to give her Ativan but both Nate and Paul quickly stopped that from happening."
Both me and James get up and head to the living room. Casey comes back in with the dog and feeds her while Jonah updates her. Not ten minutes later and the elevator opens. Nate carries Julia off the elevator with Paul right behind him, who has also apparently been crying by the looks of it.
But...
The sight of Julia....
James and Casey both cry immediately while Jonah and I continue to be stunned and speechless. Jonah runs and gets the wheelchair to put her in and she flinches in pain when she sits down. A hard lump forms in my throat for her. I know that flinch. I've been raped.
Jonah wheels her next to the couch and James hovers over her to hug her and cry. I turn on the news to see if they have any more updates. Julia begins to cry while watching her life unfold on tv for all to see again. Paul can't watch and goes into the bathroom, where he stays for quite some time. I think this really got to him.
Then, out of nowhere...Julia freaks out and it brings me right back to when I was in her shoes.
"I need a shower." Julia cries. "I need a shower. Nate, I need a shower! Oh my God, I need a shower!" She wails and startles everyone. She needs to get Jeremy off her skin.
"Ok, Ok." Nate nods and James backs away so he can whisk her away to the bathroom.
We all sit around and talk and five minutes later we can all hear Julia's wails from Nate's shower echo through the apartment. Not from pain, from emotion. I cover my mouth and can't hold back my tears now. How awful for her. Paul comes out of the bathroom, and we can all tell he spent that time crying. No one says anything. He sits down and watches the news quietly.
Julia doesn't come back out of the room. 45 minutes Nate comes out alone and closes the door behind him. He looks mentally exhausted.
"Nate. What happened in that room?" Jonah hands him and Paul each a cup of tea and sits down on the couch. But Nate can't talk about it. He just shakes his head no like James would and sits down next to him instead.
No one asks anymore questions.
