To some very special people

In a fantasy town in the American west

There's a group of writers who are the very best.

Through fifteen volumes and a third as many years

They created a story full of laughter and tears.

A multitude of plots and some spin-offs too,

All managed skillfully by a woman known as Rue.

Through the years many writers have come and gone

But their stories and characters still linger on,

And as for those still remaining, despite the world's woes,

I would like to say, before I close,

It's a pleasure and honour to know you each as a friend

And as this year draws to an end . . .

I wish you all the best Christmas you can possibly have,

and a New Year of peace, joy and good health.
