Sounds

I'm deafened and drowning
in all these surrounding sounds
I can't hear you over the din,
a strange cacophony kills.

You're a colourful noise,
a music beautiful and boisterous.
But the world is -
a complete mess.
Notes and chords - discordant.

Pungent pinks and brackish blues,
caustic austere hues
propel from their curved mouths
and wrap around -
my every neurone.

Take me away from here
lend me your warmth.
I can no longer bear
this piercing crimson.

'Let us discover a place less sinister than this.
Calming lakes - quiet - where rainbows flourish!'

'My love, if only such a place did exist.'

And so we must hold on - make do
in the comfort of each other's arms
as we walk down the road of this life -
there may be blind corners
and sometimes dead ends,
but at least you'll have my warmth
And I, your placating presence.
