January Blahs

On a day not long ago

we bemoaned there was no snow

What to do with skates, skis and toboggans

with no careless fun, falling on our noggins

There was wind and lots of rain

but going outside was a royal pain

And even if it didn't last

there was no snow in the new forecast

All kids could do was sit and frown

since crummy winter let us down

Then suddenly the sky turned graphite grey

an indication snow was on the way

Seeing snowflakes we did cheer

and so we donned our winter gear

Once again to laugh and play

before winter went away
