Sasha looked over at husband. The two were waiting for the doctor to return with the special hearing aids they had waited so long for. Sasha had never heard sound before, but that's not going to be the case anymore.

The doctor walked back in with a box in his hands. He opened it and took out the contents, then gently placed them snuggle in her ears. He turned a button, smiled at Sasha's husband, and left.

Her spouse turned to look at her when the doctor left. He raised his hand and signed hello while saying it. Sasha put her hands over her mouth. She had never heard his voice, but it was perfect. Tears brimmed in her eyes. She lunged at him and cried tears of joy. He said 'I love you,' and even though she had never heard it said before, she knew it sounded right.

She once only heard silence, now she was listening to symphonies.
