Mending the Moon (MercadoC)
Mending the Moon
bones and wine
and we were humans,
drunk on
monstrous,
worldly love.
we were humans,
drunk on
attention
and riches
and make-believe felicities.
we were humans,
drunk on the good life
drunk on the pleasure
but that was once
upon a time
for we are now bones
and skeletons,
paying for the debts
of our selfish and
worldly way of living.
we are now hard tissues
embracing infinite
nothingness.
we are now rotting ghosts
of the humans we used
to be.
we are now bones,
yet still drunk.
Always drunk.
Drunk on oblivion.
