Women's Rights
Silenced, muted
The hand over my mouth
Because I am a woman,
I am a mother, sister, aunt
Not a father, brother, nor uncle
I am born with a physical disadvantage
Not a physical disability, but it might as well be
I am ignorant
Not by choice, but by your force
Knowledge is power,
Strip me of my intellect
And you strip me of my throne
You fear my potential,
I can surpass your strength
I can break like glass,
I could teach and be taught,
Or I could be slain and left to rot
It's your chance to choose
If I'm to win or lose
Be bruised, misused
Or to strive and thrive.
