when no one else could

and you made me smile

like i hadn't in a while

you brought light to my world

when all i saw was dark

and you helped me forget

all my troubles

that nothing mattered

besides being able to talk to you

the whole night through

but i was a fool

to think you were more than a tool

and that i truly was

anyone special to you

and now i realize

that i was only kidding myself

into thinking we could be together

yet i still fell

because my heart continued to flutter
