A Moment to a Memory
Welcome to life, where nothing is fair,
Took my bricks and built your house elsewhere.
I remember that moment, when you were here,
Here in my arms, as I held you near.
Cuddled from dusk, now its dawn
You've moved on and I'm holding on.
In my eyes, you saw a reflection,
But in yours, I saw perfection.
In that moment, your face I graced,
Your lips I taste, as I have fallen in a calm white place.
But that's now a memory
A memory I can't fade.
Trying to swim but I can barely wade;
I guess I'm preserving something that's already decayed.
Then again, this is life;
Where someone can have a loaf of bread,
And be envious of your slice.
