18. This Life
The landscape flew
Past the train window
Daring, mocking,
Is it for this fleeting life
That you work yourselves to death?
But the rivers and lakes
Lingered longer,
Calm and peaceful,
Promises of joys yet to come
In that eternal home
Beneath which streams flow.
