Lovely Woods
For Contests-Rants picture poem contest
Into the woods so desolate and deep,
I venture so lone,
On the roads so crooked and steep.
Under the willows so thick and tall,
I lay on the grounds sprawled,
Gazing at the dampen roots.
Picking up the colorful leaves,
I drift into the memories of my wonderful past.
Howling winds and the rustling leaves,
Breaks my delightful reverie.
Twilight rises as the haze sprays around,
Turning the bright evergreens to shadowy monsters.
Taking in the mesmerizing beauty,
I return to the valleys near the creep,
And fall into my beauty sleep.
