The wind was too rough
I lost all control
Nobody cares when you look tough
But no one sees past the exterior
No one can see what's in the soul

My wings came undone
The feathers ripped out
Now on Earth, the only one
An agony to make me shout
Up to the sky where I had been forsaken
And now I am broken

Their words cutting deep like knives
The cold burning like wild fire
They say only the strong survives
Perhaps why I can't fly higher

The man in the mirror
Reflecting with a monster at his head
Death coming ever nearer
Soon his blue days, turned red

Until the hark of angels sing
A woman as fair and bright
Yet not a single wing
A creature among mortals out of sight

Her words of calm and encouragement
A heart so warm, can melt the ice
Her actions going with impediment
Her friendship comes without a price

No more afraid, still no wings we bear
Still trapped on earth, but not alone
This world I now forever share
My baggage in life now atone

And so forever I hear Heaven sings
For those of us now called
We Without Wings
