I'm Not Doing The Dusting

They say 'when the cat is away

the mice will play'.  I've spent

all morning wattpadding as

my husband's not home today.

I'm not doing the dusting,

I'm not at all in the mood.

I'm not doing any work at all,

for I can only think of food.

I'll have to do the dusting

for no one else will do it.

I wish I knew where to buy

an amazing 'round-to-it'!

I've seen them square and rectangular.

I've seen them purple and red,

But I've never seen a round one,

well, only in my head!

I'll go and make a sandwich

then perhaps I'll do it.

But only, only (this is the truth)

When I get around to it!

Some years ago I visited a gift shop and they were selling novelty

items.  One of them was a small round coaster (used to put cups and

drinks on).  On it were the words:- 

'This is a Roundtoit.  You will need

one of these to do all of those little jobs which need to be done.  As in

I will do those jobs when I get 'around to it.' 

This is an English expression which means the job will get done eventually!
