I only knew you as a text voice in my message box but your optimism and bravery created the image of a person I wish I had known face to face. I will miss very much the joking banter we shared and the honesty. Be at peace.

We all have a fascination

with the thought of life's cessation

and is there really what they call The Great Beyond

For those with faith unshaken

that's where we'll all be taken

the place where everlasting life was spawned

For those whose titles start with A

perhaps believe another way

using metaphysics with which to correspond

Yet in the end does it all matter

all the prayers and all the chatter

perhaps we might as well have waved a wand

The truth is, the solace that you find

is in your heart and in your mind. . .

and the proverbs of which we are so fond

all dissipate when fate is signed

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, a final statement

except for one thing that really lives forever

indestructible energy, the soul's entrustment

Somewhere in the cosmos that power dwells

endless in creation

retaining memories of all those cells

components of that energy abstraction

I posit then life will endure

no matter the persuasion

So here's to more, at least to seconds

a bright new sparkle
