~Broken Alone

Oh in the night sky
I sing a song (far and wide)
Oh to my broken heart
that I always remember 

There is this story

Of a mermaid so weary

With tears and everlasting fears

In the midnight sky, 
I think of you then
The laughter of yours that met my end
Oh heart have you rend
forgive my selfishness 
and please let me mend

Oh I recall those tender days
Where it was just me and you
Singing happily
I didn't think anything of it
But what is true
I never think anything
except you in these sorrowful ways

I think this is my cruel destiny
Singing here alone
Every night I wish the same thing
Of oh my beloved
Why won't you ever join me
In my endless sorrows

I sing a song to you and me
Please come, I'm begging
For you to come
Oh hope, a wish

And this never-ending fate

I must cast the shadow over you

And fulfill a mermaid's fate...

This is the only poem/song thing that is not based on something that happened.  I wrote this awhile back when writing in one of my mermaid stories that has not been made public yet.  A character was singing this as a song when lamenting about his life and what happened.  I was also listening to a wordless song and made this.
