I had a long chat with eternity
about how time is so fleeting to me
she shrugged her shoulders as she said
"that is how the world must be"

the world rushes at a speed more than lightning,
off from place to place
most of them do, most say and think,
they never get to see ends meet"

confused I looked her in the eye
how must this be so?

"nothing is ever good enough
for those who rush to seek
but those who sit and watch slowly
get more than just a peek

they get to speak, like you and me
they get to know and feel and think
they get to experience life in the moment

and when I shake hands with them,
they don't try to run
they've accepted their true fate
and loved the way it had been spun"

I sat there on my pillow
and as my room came back into focus
I glanced around, slowly searching
and found all I'd never seen
