Her big brown eyes lowered. She couldn't look up. She didn't want any more of the shameful glares. They weighed her down like stones in the ocean. Heavy, bulging boulders. No. More like cinderblocks, tied to her feet, pulling her. Dragging her down to the murky seaweed below her. Down to the bottom. Their eyes pierced her skin. She was alone. Naked, cold, and bare for the world to see. For the world to judge. She was an entertainment. A joke. A laugh that would never go away. Her mind constantly racing. Her heart constantly breaking. She was snapping. Yet they smiled at her. But an evil, wicked smile. A smile full of judgement and malice. A smile that had seen her past and was taunting and teasing her soul. She couldn't take it anymore. She ran. Ran away from the pain. Ran away from all the taunting and teasing. She ran away as fast as she could but once she got to the safe haven she called her house, she stopped. Her stepfather's truck was parked in the driveway. Her heart sunk deeper than the bottom of the sea. The sea of which she was delving into. Deeper. Deeper. As deep as the world was cruel. And as dark as the pain was real. The darkness engulfed her soul. For the one thing that was worse than the pain of public anxiety and fear of the world she was born into... was the person who gave it to her.
