Written November 11, 1935 at age 41

"O God, send forth Thy peace today

To those whose hearts are sad,

And may we Christians work and pray

To help those who are bad.

"So many died for 'Noble Cause',

Of which they heard or read;

They were mislead to break Thy laws.

In vain they died or bled!

"O may we choose not sword, but Soul!

May we love friends and foes;

May we in truth attain the goal:-

For these Thy Son arose."
