Alone I sat in the empty orchard

No more pumpkins to be found

All the children already came

And made the pumpkins safe and sound,

The children will already be carving

Saying tomorrow's Halloween

But here I sit all by my self

Where I'll never again be seen

Tomorrow all my friends and family

Will be set out and lit up

But here I sit all by myself

Listening to the birds chirrup

Alas I hear a car door close

And footsteps coming nearer

Small arms enfold around me

And the situation becomes quite clear

A little girl about the age 4

hops around with glee

'Mommy I choose this one'

And I joyously agree

Her mother merely nods her head

And great hands grasp my sides

I was slowly heaved into the air

And in her arms I lie

She trudged back towards her car

And when we finally arrived

She whirled around to her precious daughter

And said, 'ready to make some pie?
