We worked in partners to convert a song into a sonnet for English, so here's mine! This was so much harder than I expected it to be XD

I has't gazed the water's edge mine whole life
I wast nev'r the king's perfect daughter
This island I call home is free of strife
I long to see the ocean's deep water
I knoweth all art so joyous hither
I know my role here with my family
The sea beckons me; I cannot dither
But can I leave mine home and family?
Where sky meets sea trying to summon me
One morn I'll go but I don't know how far
The reef be only a part of the sea
My dear family says stay where you are
Shall the gods say yes, shall the gods say no?
Only currents decide how far I'll go
