Our Fault
Everyone takes and takes
We take for granted
We take for ourselves
Very few give back
The lush pastures of dewy grass
The swift rivers that gleam in sunlight
The honeyed fields of swaying wheat
We burn it, destroy it, all needlessly
Gentle whisk of their tails
Flicking ears and watchful eyes
Arcing horns, fiery manes, howl of the night
Fall to mechanical weapons
Yellow glow of electricity
Soft dripping from the sink
We waste these too
When it's gone, it's gone
The world is wilting
We waste its resources
And when it ends, we end
But we still continue
