Let's say there's this girl
Who wants to feel accepted
She likes music and acting
But she feels intimidated

She looks at the ones around her
She sees how good they are
She wants to prove herself to them
To show there is more to her
She is more than what she seems

When she tries, she fails
Her skills are not as good as theirs
She wants to be their friend
But she never knows what to say

She excludes herself from them
But she wants to be with them
To feel accepted
Like she belongs there

There is something they don't see
She is acting almost every day
She always seems like she's happy
But she really feels alone

A small smile and cheery voice
This is an illusion
Does she really feel that way?
She feels broken and hurt

All she wants is someone to notice
Someone to see through the disguise
To tell her that they care
That she is important

But she finds it hard to believe
Do they really mean it?
She cannot tell
They could be saying it out of pity
At least that's what she believes

They don't care, she says
They don't mean it
When her pain is obvious
No one helps her

No one approaches her
Or hold her close and say it's okay
They go on with their lives
Like it's not their problem

She admits some may have tried
And she may have pushed them away
But she doesn't want to feel weak
Or to be seen that way

She still trys to reach out
See if she will be noticed
But subtle or obvious
It's always a failed attempt

But why care about this girl?
She's fictional is she not?
Maybe someone will see through it
Or so she tells herself
