Waltz of Jane and Jeb
©Jan. 15th 2022, Olan L. Smith
Once upon a time in a woodshed on the prairie,
Jane and Jeb came to bang their head.
It was ordained a spider to drop upon her head,
And run across her face and down her dress, it's said!
She ran across the city as fast as she could,
She shouted, "I never want to see him, ever again."
Once in a woodshed, on a prairie's level land
Beneath a black widow's web.
Jane and Jeb came to their end just before they'd wed,
It was ordained a spider to drop on her head
And run across her bonce, and down her dress it's said.
Jane and Jeb bang their heads beneath a spider's web,
So, bad was the bite it sent her straight to her bed!
Once, upon a time in a woodshed on the prairie
Jane and Jeb came to bang their head beneath a web.
It was ordained a spider to drop on her head,
And run across her face and down her dress,
To feast on her bosom, instead!
Now, Jane is dead and Jeb's by her side
He could not stand it so he took his life, it read.
Once upon a time on a prairie by the city,
Jane and Jeb came to their end.
It was ordained a spider to drop on her head
And run across her bonce, and down her dress it's said.
Jane and Jeb bang their heads beneath a spider's web,
So, bad was the bite it sent her to her death instead,
Once upon a time on the prairie it is read.
