the one thing i remember about them

was their smile

it warmed me, knowing that i did that

i made them smile

each one was different

and it hurts

that they also made mine cry

and i made them sad

i didn't mean to

it was just simply not to be

but their smile

their laughter

the thing that made me the happiest

also made me sad

remembering what was

but smiling knowing that i will find better

and so will they
