I feel like a crystal pond

With a surface still and calm

But then someone threw a pebble

Causing my water to tremble

Maybe I'm more like a desert flower

Blooming when I shouldn't have power

Resilient to the incredible heat

Never to admit defeat

No, I'm a geode, rough outside

Crack me open and find inside

Gems and beauty far beyond

Any turquoise, sun kissed pond

I've never been this poetic

But this emotion is truly epic

Really the only thing I am

Is a love filled, broken dam
