Dear Mother
Author's note: I wrote my mother this poem for mother's day one year.
If I could I'd buy you roses,
Or maybe some brand new clothes.
Even take you to a fancy place to eat,
but I can't afford all those.
If I could I'd have it wrote in the sky,
That I wish everyone had a mom like mine,
Unfortunately I can't do much,
But I know to you that's fine.
All I can say is thank you for all you do,
and I want you to know,
That my love is unconditional,
Even though it doesn't always show.
I'm sorry for when I'm selfish, childish or unfair,
I hope you know that even then,
I'd die if you weren't there.
I love you so much it makes me smile,
Even shed a tear.
A mother like you deserves more than a day,
You deserve all year.
You are so strong,
Everything I wish I could be,
I wish everyone on Mother's Day,
Could be as blessed as me.
I wish I could give you the world,
But in the end all I can do,
Is thank you for all you've done,
And tell you how much I love you.
