Slavery Melody

K I know what you're thinking.

Why does she keep writing about this?

Well it's because its important to remember nonetheless and that I want to make an entertaining way at talking about my and your black heritage, your black history.

So I write about it.

You gotta admit I made it pretty entertaining.

I'm a slave in Alabama
Born and raised
Been here since I was five years old
And still haven't gotten paid

Master gave me shoes
Too small for my feet
My stomach keeps on grumbling
Cause I have had nothing to eat

My Slavery Melody

I'm a slave in Mississippi
Born and raised
Been farming for bout 15 years
Still haven't gotten paid

Got separated from my mother
Now I don't know her name
Now I work for my master's parents
Who know each other's names

My Slavery Melody

I'm a slave in North Carolina
Born and raised
Been cleaning houses since I was two years
And still haven't gotten paid

They took me from my country
I don't know my own age
I never picked up a single book
Illiterate, can't turn a page

My Slavery Melody
A life without being free
Living on unknown territory
Snatched from my home country

My Slavery Melody
