Me

Please stand...

I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic, for which it stands, One Nation, under God, indivisible to Liberty and Justice to all.

Every day I am required to memorize this pledge until it is embedded into my subconscious. I know it so well that I could do it while watching reruns of TWD.

And I would, each morning when I had to say this, stare at the flag as if I could read the meaning behind the words. A deeper meaning. I believe greatly in the belief of unalienable rights and hope that others agree too.

I would stand up there reciting a script we've heard millions of times but pay no meaning to.

But I do...

I wonder if the so called American Dream was endowed to all those who live within the borders of our country. And as I stood I pondered if others thought thoroughly as I did or just didn't care.

Perhaps, that dream is just that.

Nothing more but a dream....

But maybe I could change it to a reality.

Maybe if kids thought as I did they'd do the same!

But maybe that is but wishful thinking.

I don't know....

Should I believe in this so called Dream? Or should I go in search of another meaningful one? Another trustful one?

No.

I will have to tough it out and stay along for the ride, and let everything play out until I am old enough to make that decision for myself.

I'm sorry this is just ramblings of my mind once I start there is no off! The real poem I will write in the next chapter sorry!

But at least I gave you something think about
