Why wait til Christmas morn

To remember that day long ago

When the Messiah of man was born

To make us white as snow?

How many could have known

That ordinary day changed the world?

How many saw the new star that shone

Or the baby's cries heard?

The Lord of the Ages

Stepped into time to seek and to save

Sinful man from the devil's rages

And from our self-made grave.

Who'd ever think of this:

The King came to die to save us all?

An event shepherds saw but kings missed

Our Christ born in a stall.

Why wait to remember:

He counted the cost and still he came?

There's not enough time in December

To celebrate his name.
