It was only a daydream

Darkness falls

the smiling sun yawns and waves goodbye

promising to return the next day

the moon and the shining stars arrive

The streets come alive

the old buildings pour with excited chatter

everyone talks about sandy beaches, sun kissing your skin

delicious smells fill the air

Until all of this vanishes

The sun is not smiling

it doesn't promise to return

the bitter, icy wind howls

but nobody listens because nobody's here

There's no excited chatter

Just loud car horns

There's no sandy beaches

Just pebbles like sharp daggers

It was only a daydream
