Thank you so much for reading Actus Reus.

One of the things I love about writing poetry collections is the way that they naturally come to a close and create pockets of my life. Each of my three collections so far is a scrapbook of my emotions through time. You can see a little a bit of my soul and who I was when I wrote them. 

This collection contains some of, what I believe, to be my strongest poetry to date. I hope you felt something while reading. That's my only goal for these collections! 

For those of you who may not know, in criminal law, Actus reus, Latin for "guilty act", is one of the two elements typically required to prove commission of a in jurisdictions, the other being Mens area, or "guilty mind". 

I think the title of this collection carefully reflects a lot of the darker themes that the poems devolve into.
