i saw the world in monochrome colors

without knowledge that i was unlike others

content to live in my thin glass bubble

unaware of its delicate incline to crumble

it took not a knock, not a punch, or a kick

merely a look, a soft quirk of your lips

and it shattered around me, my safety net gone

and the black and white shades melted with the dawn

and pink blossomed across your soft cheeks

and warm coffee brown had yellow honeysuckle hair streaks

and blues spread from the sky to depths of your eyes

and i praised the destruction of my broken disguise
