United We Love

The pain we feel, we no longer mind,
For our master we will go til we can no longer cry.
As the day ends, we come home injured or no,
Not knowing if we live tomorrow.

We carry our master's hopes and memories, help and love,
If they die we go home, though we don't want to leave them.
The horses, they know and try to protect ,
For pure love will help them through this day and the into the next.

Why the humans think it's necessary to kill one another,
We shall never know.
But we shall take messages to our allies and pull ammo.

On the battlefield we search
For warmth on bodies at death's door
So horses can bring them back
Over 9 million of us died in those years
Yet we never had any regret

For we will always love our humans
As we are all the same and shall never
Pass judgment on any of the animals in our kingdom
So never regret for it all happens for a reason, good or bad
