You'd never know

The girl who smiles
Has tear tracks down
Her cheeks.
To cover her scars,
She wears jackets and
Long sleeves.
But you would never
Know because you
Never knew her,
You knew the
"Smiley-faces" "happy heart"
"Shining light on all the
Dark" girl she wanted you
To see.
The boy with smarts
Has bruises on his body,
Scars in his mind,
All because, of his
"Happy little life".
People laughed at his
Love of school,
Called his smarts
Stupidity and labeled him
A fool.
But you would never know,
Because you never knew
Him. You kne the "dumb-ass"
"Reject" "nerd" he let you see.
But the girl who smiled,
The boy with smarts,
The hid away their pain.
She smiled so no one would
Have to cry like she did.
He likes school because
He could escape his
Horrid home.
People hide the truth,
People wear masks,
People lie,
And you'd never know.
